I know the quallity of ebay turbo manifolds especially the honda ones but I wanna do a turbo build on my fox body and looking for some imput on wether or not to wast money on these. I dont wanna spend the money on some long tube headers to run for one year so im looking to go boosted by this summer. Trying to get the car on the road for as cheap as possible and am debating buying these manifolds shitty stainless but v-banded with dp If there held up for 2 yrs i'd be happy. Thought about flipping the shortys and O0in something together. but for the price should i say fuck it buy them and rock it tell it shits or is it not worth wasting the money... Looking for some input thanks

Clicky clicky crack
-
Dynamically balanced V8s don't vibrate manifolds until they crack into pieces like dynamically unbalanced inline 4's do. It's still china crap, but it lasts a good bit longer.
-
emory we have a welder in the shop we'll brace 'em :mexi: style. for you
-
Support the turbo and I bet they will hold up for a good while.
The wastegate though I bet will off on the first bump you hit. Especially that one next to the turbo flange, sticks out far enough that it looks like the weight of the gate alone might rip it off.
But shit, I bet if you add the cost of the flanges and a couple cut-off disks to cut them free it's still cheaper than buy the flanges separate.
-
I wouldn't waste the money. Get a nice set of oem cast manifolds and flip them then weld up a cross over pipe. and place the turbo where ever ya want. will last just fine.
-
not trying to be anti RHMT sprit but i don't have much for fab skills and with all the work into this piece of shit i want something thats gunna look good ...... function is most important though... maybe I can con Jarebear667 into helping me make something
-
No your right, get the ebay shit, You will be pulling it off to fix stuff weekly. :?:
-
im gunna do it ...it will give me a place to start
-
I'm really curious if anyone has ever tried cutting & rewelding an entire CDM manifold. Some of the steel I've seen isn't half bad, so I'm wondering if it's just the welds that suck ass or maybe just the stresses from warpage.
-
It's the welding plus the fact it's china steel. Once the metal is fatigued from poor welding theres nothing you can do to fix it. Plus the collectors are made of cheap thin stamped steel. and the wastegate is supposed to hold to that. right.
OP, your an idiot if you buy that kit. hope it breaks and you crash and die.
good day

The chinesse cast manifolds do the job if they have one for your model car.
Do you own a mig welder?
-
Theres one in the shop..... a little renforcement should do the trick i hope or else i could allways have Bluebomber weld me up a mani and DP :mexi: and O0 but his shit is sweet!
-
post results..... my chin chow meow manifold last me 2 years without fail, it was reinforced thou. it never cracked, the engine went first.
-
Reinforce it, and make sure you got flex pipes and it will last a while im sure. But if you dangle a giant turbo off of it, ya it will break if its as is.
-
My CDM shit broke in a month, gate broke off
good luck welding up that 50ga chinaman steel
-
make sure to brace the wastegate and it should work.

there's a few miata folks runing ebay cast manifolds and they all say they work fine. Bryan taylor is running one on his miata and last I heard it was working finie.

tired of losing jobs? keep buying foreign. :mexi:

True Dat!!
Buy some china shit, to only have it break, and then after youve welded it 90596704957650 times, step up and save some money to buy something that was made by someone/company that actualy cares about there product. So in the end you could have just saved the money that you would have thrown away on the china shit, and bought something worth two shakes of piss. THats why my build is going on 2 years now. :-\

I agree.
I generally don't like buying chineese made shit. Truth is, if the US manufactured and produced more, the cost of american made products would go down. But given the situation we have, I still by some chinese made stuff. But when I'm shopinig, if I'm comparing items, I always look at where they're made and will generally pay more for the americian made part if it seems like the thing to do.
-
fucking spic. why dont you work on your car evar
-
Have aaron weld you up some quality shit. Only thing chinaman makes good is the cast manifold. But you will have to modify it because the fuckers can't drill straight. Must be the slanted eyes

fucking kids a cop, and saved a fat chick from killing herself on the railroad tracks bwahahahahahaha he hasnt talked about his mustang in a while, let alone touch it, sits in the shop collecting dust. im the last one to really work on it after i shaved his engine bay.
-
i always knew he liked fat girls lol :mexi:
-
I feel the love in the air.
-
i think i would make a good motivational speaker haha
-
Go ahead. Buy an ebay tubular manifold......
1 in 10 seems to hold up great.
Like those odds?
Are you building a show piece or something you can actually beat on day in, day out?
YOU can use some engine bracket shit to bolt the turbo flange to so the weight of the thing isn't supported by thin gauge shit piping.
Really. Look at china's infrastructure. They use soda cans and cardboard as FILLER in "concrete" buildings. Maybe that's just their way of controlling the population and later blaming it on "god".
-
Buy the boost brothers kit if your gonna buy any ebay stuff. It's made for an sn-95 but will fit a fox with very little modifications. I've got one of their kits on my own car making close to 500 hp and no cracks or issues yet and its been on there for a while and I'm not nice at all to my car.
-
i told him about it. still looks a little cheesy but.. oh well get what you pay for. its worth a shot.
-
i like the boost brothers kit for what it is...how was the quallity of turbo it came with ?
Fact- I have drank away my car lost my motivation spent to much time chasing skanks now i need to get on the ball and get this shit done im ready to start buying parts so i leaning towards the boost bros kit I just want this thing on the road for the summer.
support america? buying import cars?

The quality of the turbo is china.
-
ya rock it until it falls to pieces and throw a powerstroke turbo on it.
-
My china boost brothers turbo is still working and has been on and off my car to diagnose another car with a bad turbo. Its still working but is getting replaced this winter. Having said that there is no more play than when it was installed. Still spins very easily and smoothly, but it begining to just leave an oily residue on the compressor side. Not enough to leave oil anywhere but if you rub your finger inside the housing you can feel that its there. But it is chinese so its probably hit or miss if they last or work at all.

I have a turbonetics 76mm turbo here that I can use. My poor stock block is doomed. I'm gonna turn it up to 600 at the tires thru an aod this spring and let her rip (hopefully not in two).
