so, see how the turbo is keyed??? didnt notice that. so i clocked it, and went to put the snap ring back on... the compressor housing didnt seat, and so i thought it was just a little tight from never being taken apart.. tapped it with a hammer lightly. well the little round keyway broke the damn metal somehow... you think it will be okay?? the rubber still is in tact and seals up, but that section is taken out.. ill try to do my best in paint hah

i just drew the white over on the other piece to show how big it was, but its actually on the other side of the turbo where the arrow points... do you think it will be alright with that section missing???

The first problem I see is the turbo size - too small :P
The real issue could be the pressure pushing the o-ring out to the snap ring. If you can use something like JB weld to reform the lip, or glue the chunk back in, it should keep the o-ring in place. Just make sure you use a dremel tool to grind that key out of the cover.

i just put some high temp gasket sealer where the break occured and then continued on.
i think it will be fine. i was pissed when that stupid snap ring wouldnt go in so i started banging it.
then i finally took it apart to see what the hell was stopping it and i saw this.
not happy. i just bought this turbo a few weeks ago.

and the turbo size, isnt too small!!! twin scroll 16g evo turbo, for a 2.0L, i think should be plenty... mabye not though, who knows...

Too small. My 16g on my bone stock LS spooled at 1200rpm and 17psi at 2200rpm on a log mani.

stopping by. my sister has business to take care of in asheville once a year so our family makes a trip to the biltmore for x-mas to go aloing with it. we get a hotel and my sister expenses it. i can't resist gettin my ride tuned by someone who knows what the fuck is going on because i have so much money in it right now. hopefully the damn cam gets here tomorrow, if not i guess its getting tuned with the stocker in it.

Yeah that aint gonna happen lol. Somethin about being broke-ass and eating ramen noodles for dinner ha. :P Realistically, I can hardly maintain the one I have, much less a second. Maybe when she gets her RN, but at that point ill want a Supra or something so meh. Thanks for letting me know about it though, I appreciate it.

Also, the OP is a faggot, and while Robb is basically paying all the bills since his wife quit her part time gig and picked up a bigger course load he very much does not eat Ramen. I eat it for lunch at work alot from those Styrofoam cup/bowls you get at the grocery store. I have a box of them under the toolbox. Add water and nuke.

quit buying turbos made with cast metal contaminated with wop grease

hah yea the turbo isnt the best, ive run into some problems... drain... way too tight for my -10an braided line and fittings, so now i need a 90... or mabye a 45 i dunno..
also, i had to notch the front crossmember to get the exhaust to fit, sucks but its getting re-welded back tomorrow with some nice steel plates!
