Title: Bought a new ride.
Post by: brine04 on December 17, 2009, 09:33:14 PM
So in lieu of the heightened faggotry cause by certain individuals praising the 4x4 capabilities of Isuzu Rodeos I thought I should share my latest junk.

It's a 1992 Dodge W250 Cummins Auto 4x4. Dana 70 rear w/lsd and king pin Dana 60 front. Has 381k km on it. Bought it from a heavy duty mechanic who had just put over $7500 into it. Has 4" straight pipe, K&N, and I just finished indexing the fuel pin and maxed out the throttle stop. Also came with some 285's on polished wheels.

Why is that damn truck like 54 foot long and it will never be as fast, as awesome or get any where near the gas mileage of my sweet Honda pilot and you know it.

Do you ever plan to put that nice heavy duty drivetrain to work, or is this a big stick kind of deal?

 :P

No I kinda wanted a Toyota but I don't fit in them that well. The drivetrain will be put to use not breaking when I decide to make some power with it as well as turning either 38's or 40's I haven't decided yet.

Not exactly, it gets 25mpg and Diesel is cheaper than gas in Canada. Plus I have no job and no pay.

That big bastard really averages 25 MPG?

If that is the case, swapping a 6BT into our old 83 C30 would be better than building the 454.

lol.

If you drive it like a white man it does. It does worse in the winter though due to longer warm up times, more idling, and winter diesel. And yes swapping a cummins in would be sweet. Way more torque than a a big block and a ton better fuel mileage.

i never understood this quote. what white man drives like a little bitch? or do you mean if you drive it like a damn hippy. personally theres full throttle and no throttle. for hotrex tehres 66% throttle, hippys theres about a 3% throttle

i picked up a 89 dodge dokota with a newer 91 motor for 200$ eariler this year. does nice in the snow. 4 hi and 4 low.  i had to put a new fuel pump and go to the junk yard for a few parts but didnt put over 200 into it. looks like shit but most dodges do. just got it for a cheap 4x4 truck. probably sell it within a year like most of the cheap shits i buy.

Plan on keeping it as a reliable DD. Once I get some gauges in it it I'll swap the lagmaster 21cm^2 exhaust side for the 18cm^2 I have and probably give the power screw a turn. I'm not going to do anything crazy with it until I get the transmission built.

I think he means the sunvisor. The color is off if you are a bodyman or look for it, I noticed before I bought it just didn't care. Kinda want to take it off but I don't want holes in my cab.

Take it off and see your mpg go up some.

My friend had one of those visors on a toyota 4 runner maxed out at 70 mph took it off and would go 5-10 mph faster.... :?: i know you don't have a puny 4 banger but those suck.

Hmm not worried about top speed, but better fuel economy means more beer in my fridge.
