FTA satellite... not on demand, or exactly free, but its no monthly payment.

I helped a friend set up a Viewsat setup.  5 receivers in different rooms.  Somewhere around 500-600 channels.

A little over a year ago the encryption changed and hasn't worked since.

AFAIK, as of a month or two ago it still wasn't cracked...

I'm not sure about other receivers, but I know Viewsat is one of the bigger ones.  There were some companies offering receivers that connected to servers to keep the keys up-to-date, but I know some got shut down and servers taken offline.

What FTA setup still works?

Feds confiscated 9 domains and their servers...  A couple of the TV/Movie streaming sites are already back up under a new domain.

Aaah IC, I've got one of those 12 foot dia satalite dishes and a reciever. Its been awhile but I've played with it, and it gets pretty confusing. You have to select a satalite to teather with then you can select channels on that particular satelite. I just got a kick out of changing satelites and watching the dish move around i'm not going to lie.

That will teach them to steal my intellectual property!
