accord alternator issues **new Prob***
« on: January 21, 2010, 09:03:25 PM »

Replaced alternator

Light went out

Car runs like bag of smashed assholes , still has electrical issues.

If I turn on the lights it idles down and misses like mad...  eventually even with the lights off it dies.

I redid some grounds , it made no difference

On top of it some nigger broke into my SiR , Stole my shift knob , floor mats and a Princess auto oil gauge.. Niggers are dumb , help me save the accord.

I think all cop cars need to have turbo. nbspnbsp Then they would understand the necessity of putting your foot down and how uncontrollable the urge is to fucking rail on that shit.

Alternator belt is slipping or a loose connection. ;D

I usually keep a bunch Nippondenso alternators laying around so I can switch out parts (they are mad easy to rebuild).

Buy a rebuild is expensive. Some parts stores sell just the diodes or brushes.

The most common thing to go out on these is the brushes which takes about 5 min to swap out or 15 min if you have to solder the brush leads into the holder.

Brushes usually about $5 or less.

Check the length of the brushes and compare to repair manual.

I started to say that an intermittant issue may be the brushes. +1 to changing the brushes if that's what's wrong. Easy enough to do, and they're cheap.

Fuck an Accord.

QFT!

mine too has electrical gremlins, it generally takes over an hour to start, and loves to eat alternator belts, even after 3 diff alternators, 2 alt brackets, and 3 crank pullys...
