My latest addition to the project queue. Bought the remains of a pocket bike at a garage sale for $20. Had the Honda engine on a shelf for the last five years. I just knew it was worth saving it! Oh sweet packrat validation!  I have a small turbo from a 990cc engine, wonder if that 3.5HP Honda can spool it?

Picked up a CG clutch tonight.  Need sprocket and chain, and am good to go.  Will post pics once the fabbin begins.

Okay, so I picked up a chain and sprocket tonight.  Ran in to a little snag tho, the shaft on the engine is 16mm, while the ID of the clutch 15.94.  Don't really want to grid on the engine shaft, so need to open up the collar of the clutch.  Not going to buy a $25 dollar flute reamer to do this one thing, so am open to suggestions.  One option is to buy a 16mm drill bit from Grainger for $7,  that ought to do a decent job of it.  Not like this thing needs to be high speed balanced...

Good idea.  Now that I've slept on it, I'm thinking that a little bit of shaft grinding may not be too bad.  WIll try the sandpaper idea first.  Thanks

I wouldn't grind the shaft. Once you do that, you can never go back. Who knows if you might want different gearing or use the motor for something else one day, then it will have an odd shaft and may also not be true. The $7 drill bit sounds like a winner to me. Just use a drill press and go slow.

So I ended up doing the sandpaper wrap idea, and it worked just fine.  The 5/8 clutch is mounted on the 16mm shaft.  Sweet.  So now I needed to fit up a 60tooth sprocket for r#35 chain.  The opening in the sprocket I purchased was too big to be able to drill the new pattern in to, so I sized up a Grade 8 washer, tigged it in place, and drilled it tonight.  Let the test fitting begin!

Doing some chain fitment and stuff now, deleted the rear suspension to avoid some cost.  It's a hard tail now.  Adding a chain roller.  Need to take more pictars.
