so i thinking about upgradeing to dual 044s. summits web site i found 1/2" aluminum fuel line. i was thinking of useing this after the y block at the back of the car to the fpr in the bay. its half the price of -8an braided line.??

friend ones twins on a rx7 but it makes 550 fuel hungry rotary horsepower

and 1/2" fuel line eh? sounds like a good idea

all the dual 044 setups i have seen use twin outlet sumped tank,one -6 AN line to each pump.both pump feed a y block. the exit of the y block setps up to -8an line that feeds the fpr/fuel rail. this line on most setups is a braded line but im trying to save alittle cash and i think a hard line under the car would survive better

1 walbro is good for like 650whp and 1 044 is good for like 750whp... how much power you think your car is actually gonna make? on gas?

What I plan on possibly doing is nixing the walbro 255HP in my tank (I also have a 044 under my feet and a -7 feed from the tank to the rail).

Making a new Tank "top" that has a 1/2"- 5/8" line going to a serviceable billet filter where the pump WOULD have been in the tank (sumping from the original oem spot so the baffling is still functional) with a -8 bung on the top running too My existing 044 and another I would add (in parrallell).

Fuck a sumped tank.

For this session were gonna see what I get to with the current setup and if fuel becomes an issue, Well  stuff the A1000 on the car for the dyno. Being as its already made 650 on what I have currently, And the new big ass injectors and the fact I wasnt dumping pressure, well have to see how far I get, but plenty of people are making 7 on the setup I have... Granted on B series, still they are revving them higher too, IDK well see.


Honestly, If I were in your shoes Id be more concerned asbout getting the car to run for a while before trying to make any power... You dont even know if fuels an issue, why fuck with it.


Youre not going to make 650 on a 255 Dustin... LOL  You might get to a touch above 600is, but not much, MAYBE on a fluke setup.

My setup is 2 -8 lines from the sump to the filters, -8 from filters to pumps, -6 from pump to Y block, -8 from  y block to post filter in the engine bay, -8 from post filter to GE fuel rail and then 2200 injectors.  This gets me to 70 some percent duty cycle at 840whp.

650 on 044 and walbro 255. Bit of fuel left....  Base at 60 with precision 1000s   -6 all the way from the tank with the Banjo bolts holes bored out about ass much as you possibly can. all the an fittings drilled out too...

Well see what I make, but Mitches shit not getting further is wierd. I made a BIT nore than him with shittier injectors

I'm assuming you checked all the fuses...maybe you have one of those chinese bosch 044's that don't do anything.

610whp seems a bit low for those 2 pumps. 555whp seems to be the low-end max for a 255HP in-tank pump alone.

Pumps in series are great for very high pressure, not exactly high flow. Doubling pressure only gives 50% more flow, so at best two in-line pumps will only add 50% more fuel than one pump. They just don't drop off their max flow as pressures go up. AMS did some tests, I can't find the link but I have the picture saved. Basicly once you reach a certain flow requirement, you're SOL regardless of the pressure you throw at it. In series, you back off pressure and enjoy more LPH. Don't go with a high base unless you're forced into ultra-high pressure because you need it to idle like stock (ID injectorators).

shit this is what i get for posting after i had been drinking. my main question was more about using the aluminum tubing in place of the braided line up to the rail.

i would just leave the fuel setup alone but i think im going to run out off fuel on the dyno. i already have a big bosh intank feeding a 044 at the rail but last time at the dyno i made 530 at 89% duty cycle.i dont know if its one of the pumps going bad and if so which one.or if it was becuse the motor was on its way out.

i know im going to want more power down the road so i was thinkng of just doing the pumps now just to eliminate a possible fuel pump issue at the dyno.

i dont know if its one of the pumps going bad and if so which one.or if it was becuse the motor was on its way out.

What I was getting at was two inline pumps (series) does not double flow. To give you an idea, ID2200's flow 2200cc at 43.5psi, and 3700cc at 130psi. Triple psi, still not double flow.

Anyways hardline will be fine, as long as you don't rigidly bolt the aluminum to the frame & motor. Rigid chargepipes use wiggins clamps to move & not stress crack, so you'd want braided line for the ends. You'd also want to get a 37* flare tool & the correct AN fittings. I'd use AN 90* elbows for tight turns. Mcmaster Part Number: 5177K49 would probably work, although I don't have much knowledge of AN size reqs. Regardless, this is the thin stuff and is "only" rated to 741 PSI. It's also annealed to be flareable, bendable & a bit more resistant to stress cracking.
