z6 head and a real man's cam and be done with it
Meh just trying to fuck around with something different it's not costing me anything really made 40 off those type r springs you sold me, head was 50, sold a bad ring a6 block (he knew I didnt
him) for 100 so that will cover the regrind or close to it.
From my reading the hx head doesn't really work like vtec. When in 12v mode it still has 16v opening.
It has 1 intake roller rocker running off 1 big lobe and the other off a thin lobe that just nudges the cam open to keep fuel from collecting behind the valve. The exhaust is just running both off one lobe.
When it transitions into vtec it just locks both of the rockers together to fallow the bigger intake lobe.
So above 3000ish rpm it's acting just like a more efficient regular 16v engine non-vtec that can take much harsher ramp rates and lift because it's roller
