serious. i would say ka pathfinder, if they existed.

go for a 22re 4runner for satisfactory longevity and no power.

What's wrong with the VG motors?  My roommate's old frontier was a fucking tank.  It constantly had a CEL for a knock sensor, but it was a beast of a truck.

Only thing that Ive heard bad about the VGs are the rear main seal is a nigger to replace due to the manly drivetrain removal..... and they develop leaks at the pan gasket. The auto tranny issues are more inherent of older models, even then its almost always solenoids going bad (easy fix with only the pan off)...

My motor has 230 K on it, doesnt burn oil, has about perfect compression runs great and looks to be clean inside at inspection under valve cover (took it off to have a look see). SOmeone took reallll goood ccare of this thing. Have the original sticker, and all service records. Interior is seriously a 8.9 out of 10. Quiet, solid and a beast in the snow.

Other than a SLIGHT rear end whine, there is NOTHING wrong with it.  Mine is fucking awesome, rides very very nicely and feels MUCH more solid than my cousins NEWER 4runner.

From what I've seen, nissan V6's are pretty awesome.  Some of their 4 bangers are pieces of shit (QR25DE), but the VG's and especially the VQ's are pretty solid.

VQs have huge oil consumption problems, and the timing chain tensioners randomly break.

This is true.  friends Spec V has already done his at about 70k and the car has consumed a quart of oil about every month on average since like 50k.

Both of the maximas my friend had don't/didn't burn oil, and despite some parts of those cars being really shitty (transmissions are questionable), the engines seem to run forever.

I had an old Nissan Maxima that i tried to kill for about 9 months and just couldn't.  Ran 35k on one oil change, Neutral drops about once a week off the rev limiter.  I beat the shit out of that car and it still drove when i gave it up.  Car had more issues than you could count, ran on 5 out of 6 cyl. bad tensioner that would rattle its assoff, Cruise would accelerate by itself, bad shifter bushings meaning sometimes you couldn't pull it out of park, also liked to lock the doors when you were trying to unlock them.

Classic High school shitbox car.  i thought it was hot shit though.

ive driven alot of differnt trucks and SUV's  and it sucks because there probly not the most reliable or best power for how much gas they use but i really like the way newer style isuzu rodeo's drive, they dont have that stupid heavy tippy cramped slow trying to hard to go suv feeling i get from most of them.  i had a trooper too i liked that pile .   i wanted to drive a montero cause they look cool ;DDD when i was shopping for a new winter beater this year but found a 98 rodeo  with a manual trans for $1500
