what pusher fan to use on a civic half core.
« on: April 16, 2012, 11:46:42 AM »

So I got the turbo on over the weekend..... But I haven't driven the car except down the driveway and back into the garage because I don't have a radiator fan, and with my luck ill forget about it and let it idle in the driveway until the fucker locks up. So I need a pusher fan as I can't get a puller over 10" on there and that's even pushing it as far as size goes. so I was looking at the spal 12" curved blade fan because it says it moves 1600 cfm or some shit and pulls a constant 18amps. So I know that fucker has got to move some air. So what do u nogs think? Is there a rhmt 12" junkyard pusher fan I can steal from something? Instead of ordering up one and paying over $115 shipped.

Wasn't there some Ford Tore-ass fan that flowed that much air?  :noel:

Swap polarity as far as size, not sure.  :noel:

There is a ford Taurus? fan that is known for being the uber shit.  I was contemplating using one a few months ago but it's gargantuan.

The slim cdm fans I got from eBay work great for my single core. Polarity is reversible for push or pull. Keeps the temps in check so far

In my experience with cdm fans is they aren't worth the plastic they make them out of. Now maybe if I had a elcheepo intercooler that didnt have so many fins to block the airflow path to my radiator they might work for you. But I ordered a spal 12" curved blade pusher fan. And all i can say is if my car breaks down Ill just kick my fan on and jet propel myself down the road. It moves so much more are than cdm, and its made in the good old U.S.A.
