UPDATE TIME!

Damn its been a while since I updated this thread. I never made it to fall nationals do to time restraints, but a lot has happen.

Pic time, but first BIG thanks to The beave for all the welding!!!

Pick up some 24.5 and had the mounted damn does it look good!

Cage getting there.

Perfect angle!

Tig?

No its mig but damn is it strong and looks good!

Started priming before painting; damn did this suck!

Also welded in some fender braces to see if they help any.

Baby Eater!

Dusty but getting there.

At this point it was early Nov and getting cold. Car was ready and we headed for the track. Once we got there the cold weather made cold starting a pain. Also while waiting in the lanes the car over heated, fan switch went bad and cluster wasnt reading temp. My fault for not checking, we jump the fan and kept it moving. After waiting for almost 1 hour due to people breaking down I get up to the burn out box only to have shut down and wait for another clean up...

Once they were done cleaning up, go to do a burn out and lost almost all power..... kept trying and nothing. I end up pulling to the side, pop the hood and my fuel pressure had drop to 25psi... We let the car sit for 15 min, fired her up and had odd fuel pressure. The car had been setting for close to a year, I never dump the e85 in the tank and was low to boot. I choice not to risk the motor and just watch races the rest of the day.

I believe the fuel filter is clogged and or the injectors need cleaning.

Pic of the gf waiting with me in the cold.

I really like this car, some old timer taking it "easy" running low 9's....

Make sure to always cover up a front facing turbo while towing it!

Race dash in full affect

Whats better then 1 crx....... 2 crx! Lil side project stroker sohc

I have not had time to check out the fuel issue with my red crx and wont have time for another 2 weeks. Plan is to address and debug the car over the winter time and start off next year running hard!

Details on the stroker?

It came out of my civic I built it 2-3 years ago. The block is a y7, but that is is only thing y7 in the motor. Crank, rods, pistons, ect everything else is from a D17, I also added arp rod bolts.

Plan is to get it running 100% and boost it to around 300hp :noel:

I always wanted to get a stroker with the K1 rods and put a smaller turbo on  it and see how much tq it could make.  250/250 would be sick!

Fuck this has been to long......................

Oh well time for a update, its been a long time but a lot has happen since I last updated this. Crx took a bit of a back burner for a while, I finally finish my Masters, changed jobs, had a ton of other projects, built a few motors, and finally relax a bit.

Anyways onto the pic's.

This is how the car sat from last year.

Driver side mount was trash so a replacement innovative took its place.

New 1/4" longer valve cover bolts (ended up being slightly to long)

For sometime I was highly annoyed with the super small battery. It was also in a hard to jump spot under the ic piping. I also did not want to move the battery to the truck, with that I new the best spot would be up front. To move it up front I need to change my IC and piping.

Next up on the list of stuff to fab was a brace to tie the motor/ trans to the front cross member to prevent it from moving under load.

Broken bisi level X, I had got a great deal on it. I sent the cam off to Rocket to see if their cam was bigger and to confirm the spec of the level X. Needs to say it was a good bit smaller then the  RM level 5. Robert from RM gave me a great deal I couldnt pass up. Despite packing the cams well, ups really fuck up the box hard core. The RM cam almost fell out and took a major hit. Nothing happen to the RM cam, yet the bisi cam broke.........

I needed a scatter shield and a drip pan if I wanted to run. I took a drive to DP, Rolando treated me like family and I drove off with some new parts.

Joey wasnt amused and wanted to be in the picture.

I made the mistake when I got the scatter shield, I had forgot there is a major difference from a hydro and cable trans. This force me to make a new lower section for the scatter shield. You can also see the down pipe coming in.

The old oil pan had to go, and I had came on a great deal on a old school canton

3" down pipe to 3" exhaust

This beer kickass!

Add some more bracing to the home made traction bar. I notice the bar was moving under load, could see it in the paint it had rip off ahahah

One of my bigger pains for some time had been the degrading factory harness so I pick up a new obd1 converted harness.

Some jump post to avoid any announces

Joey loves watching people work.

Pulled the intake manifold to remove all the old wiring and check things out.

Found that the thermostat housing had broke into a few parts..... one of the last original parts still left......

120 shot ready to do work!!!

Clutch bushings were shot so some brass replacements. I can say the clutch has never been this smooth before!

Dash back in after all the wiring changes.

Con rod tow hook

Thats it for now, looking to hit the track soon!
