Gsr obd1 block going into an obd2 si

Putting an obd1 short block which doesn't have the crank angle sensor on the front but the motor is going into an obd2 car. do i use the obd1 distributor on it for the crank angle sensor or what? Thanks

distributor makes no difference.

you need to swap on a OBD2 oil pump, gear, sensor, and cover.


edit: or run the car OBD1 with a jumper harness and "P28" ECU...

i got the sensor and a obd2b16 oil pump no gear though

Also for people who do this for future reference if you do swap on the obd2 pump w/ cfk sensor you will need to


a. get a obd2 usdm lower timing belt cover b series matching engine block
b. trim the lower t-belt to fit cfk

Also all JDM obd2 motors do not have cfk on oil pump only usdm 96+ model engines

DO THE CKP TRICK/BYPASS  .. you can jump the ckp sensor to  one of the sensors in the dizzy  and give feed in parallel to the ecu from that one dizzy sensor

Pretty good find right there. Never knew you could do that. (Makes me wonder if I can do similar shit to my ZC swap in the CRX without chipping the ecu.)
