i may have a correct answer, muncie 319 three speed.  four bolt side cover it a big identifier.  Came in all kinds of shit that was chevy in the early to mid 60's.  If you dont want it i would take it to a hotrod shop or trans shop and have someone take a look at it, it may be worth decent money.

Is the casing magnetic?  That will narrow it down a little more too.

Yeah, it's magnetic. I have the bellhousing and clutch release fork too. I'm sure that can't hurt the price either.
