turbo quad -------------->
« on: March 07, 2009, 03:47:41 PM »

repost since HMT was ass raped by a canadian.

started off twin turbo.

was becoming a pain in the ass, so i built a single turbo manifold for it. and finished it up.

turbo is too small though! should've kept the twins, but i'll probably try and find a bigger turbo for it :(
ran ok at 10psi, runs better at 15psi :)

IHI RHF4
ebay bov
ebay boost gauge
ebay boost controller
custom manifold/piping
power commander III w/ hub & GM 2 bar map sensor (typhoon)
dyno tuned by myself  8)
no intercooler

up next? maybe my vette, or better yet my buelie!

hopefully i'll get some better videos soon of some 15psi action. maybe some drag racing. the torque steer is amazing at 15psi. ~50ft-lbs of torque at 3000rpms

Sounds awesome.....

I wouldnt have thought that turbo would have seemed so small on there, but it seems like it wants to spool right away.

Somehow I missed this on the old site.

yea its way way way too small. 15psi at ~3k rpms. tons of torque. just stays flat above about 5-6k when it should be making tons of power.

off ilde to about 5k and you're in a wild ride. 5-9 and its just gaining speed

How well does a filter keep all the dirt and shit out of the turbo?

while that turbo is a bit too small...the free spool at idle is amazing.  Very cool setup!
