Pistons slap, does this normal?

After 1000kms, oil pump failed, rod bearing damaged, still have to remove for check it, but after remove head, noticed this piston slap..does this normal?

ive heard vitara pistons sounds a lot sometimes but im not sure on this.

Z6 turbo running only 7psi.

was just gonna say that shit is normal...but after watching the video, she seems to be on the loose side...

..or ready to make some power  :noel:


how did it sounds before the pump died? cold rattle, then quite once warmed up?


also. buddy decided to drive his rod knocker home, so motor continued to pump sand shit that use to be oil pump/bearings threw the motor. pistons where scuffed to shit. might want to pull that all the way apart and check the pistons, cylinder walls for round, etc.

It sound same cold and warmed up, typycal rod noise at 2-3k rpm.

I remember i put good clearance in piston rings for some track use, p2w i can't remember neither lol, that build was alot just used recelently, it's using 75.50mm piston because i bought the bare block honed to 75.5mm.. i have to remove pistons so i'd measure it.

oil level was good after these 1.200kms (750miles)..  :noel:

bearing was detroyed in 3rd cylinder.. :-\ need another crank and bearings. :'(

Those are probably original vitaras, I had a set an they were like that. They were considerably loose in 75mm bores so I never ran them.
