HD backup questions...
« on: May 12, 2009, 08:28:30 PM »

I want to make a backup of my laptops HD, but I want to have a full image of the drive, like a CD iso.
My Thinkpad T43 has a hidden partition for recovery. Have any of you guys used any good software that can clone/image an entire hard drive w/ hidden partitions?

I usually just do backups of important folders, but I want to be able to put my laptop back to factory settings if the the HD fails and I replace it.

Nukka what?

Not sure what program, I'd say Norton Ghost, but I think it does a full backup widows and all

I usually just copy the file I want to keep to another disc, then format and reload

make sure the program uses error checking and virus scanning. imaging a drive with corrupt files and virii is craptastic.

I used Acronis True Image before a couple of times when upgrading to a larger hard drive.
Worked fine, this should be perfect to back up the tuning software which has reg keys.
