Running issues
« on: October 06, 2009, 01:05:02 AM »

I installed an engine on the sunday
my buddy and I argued about where the wastegate line goes, I said bottem/he said top
So anyways I spit the rods and pistons onto the floor!

We installed a new engine on the monday and I got a coolant temp code and it wouldnt rev up or idle right.
I check everything but it looked ok
I pulled out the 9 year old hacked up dpfi swap harned I maid and installed a rywire harnes.

now no codes, idles perfect!  hit the gas and
revs to about 2g and then completly dies out.

All sensors good
tps good
all wiring good
fuel pressure good
tps wiring good.

I looked at the ecu and someone moved the chip
it was 1 spot ahead of where it should be (2 pins sticking out of zip socket)

U guys think that could of wiped/fucked the chip?

I would say theres a really good possibility that the chip could get fucked up if its installed wrong into that zif socket and power applied. Just try another one.

there was a solid cell at key on so I looked at the chip and noticed what happened.
I moved it to the proper position and then the solid cell whent out.

I try running the car after that and its weird

cranks and starts very quick, no long cranking
Idles smother then it ever has, give it very little gas and it slightly revs until about 2,000 and then no more
let it idle and pin it to the floor, revs to 2g once (no bouncing off the limiter), and will drop all the way down and die unless I let go of the gas.

I even tried re pining the tps incase it was wrong but its not.
It has sig power/ref sig out/ground sig      o-5v clean sweep.

I didnt have my lap top with me or I would of just changed it then and there.
Im just gathering ideas befor I go back up this weekend (its an hour and a half away)
