I can get RHD Mk4 for $14-15K. Problem is I've yet to drive or tune a Mk4 that was worth half what it sold for. Those cars are hype, and the best thing you can do is transplant their engines into a chassis that doesn't suck.

Seriously, how do you build a soopercar with such piss poor traction, power transfer, and handling? Sure they do the top speed stability thing decently, but most anything pushing 4000lbs does.

i dont even know how i could drop 27k into my accord. i could have everything i'd ever want for 5...maybe could stretch it to 10 but it'd be hard

Fuck, even doing all my own work (well other then basic engine machine work, for which I lack the tools) I could easy dump $40K+ into a motor, probably not a Honda motor, but into a Cummins no problem.

I hate it when a forum thinks their thread is hot shit so once they realize its hotlinked they immeditaly make teh thread only viewable if you sign up. Czause they know mad fuckers will sign up just to see it and their membership jumps adn they get more dough from sponsers.

But yeah, money...when a shop is doing the work can add up super quick. Guy at work has about $12k into a del sol, topping out at around 400hp, has never been to a track and when he gets back from iraq will probably put another $5-8g's into a dart block and the associated components. The car is nice, but not 12k nice. forged internals, the ports have been cleaned up, intake manifold, huge tb, huge catch can set-up/valve cover catchcan, omni suspension...
