cheap PC boards
« on: May 15, 2010, 01:26:37 PM »

just wondering what you've used before.

i'm building a run of sensors for a vendor over on MR2 boards and i need a quick batch of PCBs made up. i'm too lazy to print/transfer/etch them myself (which i may end up doing if all else fails) and i've been trying to find places online to manufacture them.

futurlec quoted me ~$35 total, but i don't know that i can wait a month to get them. i'd like to have this shit done by the end of may.

PCBcart quoted about $55, and it seems their quality is pretty decent.

any others? these are tiny boards (1.0875"x0.7500") and i need about 15 of them. they're double sided, no need for silkscreen or solder mask since they're going to be potted inside a sensor housing anyway.

i've made a few prototypes using my laser printer and magazine page and transferring the layout to copper clad board with an iron. it works pretty well and is super easy for single-sided boards, but these are 2-sided and a bit more of a bitch.

thanks.

ahh, i also should have specified the boards are drawn in eagle and i'm hoping there's a mfr out there that will just take the eagle files so i don't have to convert everything to gerber. i know futurlec will, but it seems like they're the only ones.

i just redrew a new version of the board that should be pretty easy to etch myself. maybe that's the way to go with these...

www.4pcb.com is who you use for very small quantity prototype boards, although they can be very competitive for large runs of silkscreened boards.  www.apcircuits.com is also good for quantities of silkscreened mojo.
