Whilst I agree that material possesions are a long walk off a short pier, for practical applications I would rather have a unit that will fit in my pocket and is cheaply replaced than one that is akward to tote around and more $$$ if something happens to it. By freeing oneself from the strings of the laptop you are effectively increasing quality of life.
