I just think it's fucked that we use our military force to perpetuate an unsustainable existence. If we spent as much money on advancing technology for noble purposes as we do on our military, we'd have terraforming colonies on Mars right now. You dumb niggers are proud of what our military does? What the fuck is there to be proud of? You risked your life to increase share prices of corporations, awesome job, go America.

Just because we devote so much r&d into finding innovative ways to obliterate people doesn't mean military research is the best way to advance useful technology. Consider NASA and all the tech that emerged from aspiring to a noble cause. The oil dependent militant corporatocracy stifles the kind of technological advances humanity desperately needs to make.

No, i just saw where he was going with that point.  Its not that the military doesn't do R&D for new tech, his point was that the useful tech we get from it is usually a byproduct of finding a new way to kill people and or rape & Pillage.  So yeah we get new tech right along side a new way to play world police using weapons.

the gov is fucking dumb, but we are ALL peons and the military is exactly the same. Just people trying to feed their families, the only difference is we cant just quit our job and HAVE to do what we are told or take unpaid leave to leavenworth... i could sit here and spout shit about how you fucking paying taxes is ruining this country and supporting war and blah blah but theres just not much you can do about some things.

I say fuck the military too, but I still appreciate the men & women who serve. At least they have something they believe in dying for. The only thing the average american will die for is food.

My grandpa recently died - fought in Germany, recieved the legion of merit & silver star, etc. That was when it was real war, in terms of real threat to our country. All the rest have just been political or for oil. If we were really the bleeding hearts we claimed to be we'd be all over Africa; however, all the oil lies offshore. The truth is we really don't need a military. No other country in it's right mind would ever want to conqure a nation full of fat, whiney assholes like those that make up most of our country.
