EFin basic DX
« on: June 15, 2014, 02:44:48 AM »

Think I had a semi post a while ago, but I figured Im getting close so ill post sheet up so everyone can see where Im at.
Think this is one of the older pictures of when I got it I have. added wheels and a few things  car was a pile when I got it
Traded it for a 85 gti I got in trade for a truck. wanted another honda so I picked this up

Been thru alot of shit. I think i've had it meh 7 years safely. Never really had a " decent " job that was full time until I really had to.
Then I married.  :?

so fast forward to now. The plan has always been to have a single turbo. Dunno why. Wanted to be different I guess. And still to do this day think 8+ thousand on a K series is retarded.
zc I ended up just ripping out of my car because the 3 zcs I bought from people that were claimed to be " decent " I got burned on. and I knew the one in my car atleast ran and didnt knock. So out it came on a friday and sunday it was back in and rebuilt. rings bearings gaskets. CLEAN no smokie :D

Setup will be a ZC block Z6 head,  columbia piping
RHB5 turbo. I had two of them, but I snapped a 13 mm off a exhaust side, and im horrible with anything drill tap extract whatever  so now i guess I have one and parts  :?:
Have a set of 720s from turbo
and another set of 440s ill probalby start out tuning first on
ebay intercooler I got for next to free

HF manifold for now. ebay " HKS " bov bought a mild steel adaptor so I can weld it in or cuppler it. dunnno yet

old block and head i mounted just to do the down pipe outside of the car.

That's pretty much where I stand. THINK I have everything to slap it together minus the piping kit.
we shall see how it goes sooner then later I hope

Cam gear allens slipped last week and muffed sheet up. so that set me back, I had to get another " head " and a block that " knocks " may rebuild it and sell it. z6 block FS  :P

had a pretty shitty week.

dumped damn near all my tools into a oil drain that had maybe a half inch of oil in it :/ fawk

started notching ONE of my 3 I think zc blocks. just to see what it was like... didn't think itd be that easy. have to do alot more once I get some rods here.

built a head for my brother in law.  P8r b20 head, supertech sprangs and delta 272s
cam out okay i think. he likes it. says it pulls.

I thought I took more pictures, this is a early state of the polish jobie

oh well... more to come I suppose.

this post sucks.

and not because of lack of porn either.

you need to hack a lot more of the block to clear the rods. and the last one i did required hacking a lot of the girdle also... good luck.

Those rods are from some retard grinding the rods instead of the block, lol.

Christo19's balls-deep D16 build just did 401whp, and it's relatively cheap & simple. I think the clutch was the most expensive part of his build. When you're ready for big injectors on the cheap, shoot me a PM.

SPecs on my build will be
ZC bottom end. z6 head.
hoped for a vitara build and eagle rods.
the turbo is a subaru IHI rhb5.
Rhmt piping.

As of now I just rebuilt my z6 block so ima slap it on as is until I get a better kit.
May be working on a kids car for some garrett turbo soon so hopefully its worth it, and I can save it for winter. :noel:

Little update, been thru some shit lately... my transmission blew up. Got stuck in third. had to get another one of them.
Found another one from a "friend" and it ended up being the input shaft bearing that rattles from hell. So no word on yet when ima fix it. BigdaddyV will probably be fixin that shit for me, he's got deals.
Bent all my valves, cam gear slipped 20* retarded :(

so here I am. Finally ordered all my piping couplers and pieces I needed.

columbia special. 2.25" for now just to see what i can do :/

Dunno wtf I am doing so I tried it all. I was scared to chop

kinda got it pointed where I wanted .... I think ?

Figured the top side and the reducer were not going to move so I splattered some shit

KInda it for now, Im going bowling tonight to drink so beers so I quit early.
Plan to finish the DP tomorrow, maybe remove the bumper and have the intercooler mounted, maybe the cold side mocked up... dunno. Im in no hurry, I need to find another beater as a commuter. for work, and incase this shit getts outa hand.

ON a awesome note.... I was planning on Vitaras, welll I came across these " new " pistons for hella deals.
Woke up at 330 am and drove 2 hours one way to get them. ( still deals )

baby JEs " SRP " forrrgied. should be greaat. Supposedly they're " NEW " but they've been pressed onto z6 rods. which they have to go... but they look flawless. minus  a little nick probably from being in a box for so long tossed around?
dunno I measured them with a micrometer and they were all straight and I was happy.
So I bought em.

 ;DDD ;DDD ;DDD ;DDD
should be fun. When I can put big power with those in a different block.

Been doing odds and ends of peoples shit trying to get as much side money as I can for this thing.
Heres a p06 I socketed and chipped and tuned for a b20.

Thats it for now... Will try to update more, its been fun being in the garage and fabbing this shit.
Going to get a bottle so I can make it semi nice. My welder sucks bawls. CRAPSMEN

My step dad has a crapsman mig welder. It's only a 110v, but it rocks. It's made by Hobart and is sold by craftsman.

Yea this is a 110 gas/gasless. My grandfather gave it to me so I bet its older.
May be good with a bottle. Idk. It only has high and low power and 1 and two extra power? Then normal speed changes.
Anyway. Do you guys reccomend putting a flex pipe into the bottom of the downpipe where it connects to the "cat" flange.
Buddy told me I should put one there. Thanks
I drank too much last night :/ dunno of I'll get much done today

Finally threw it together, said eff it.
No headstuds no nothing just finished it.
When I pulled the pan to swap for the tapped one, I found a SHIT ton of bearing material. I was really worried so I pulled all the rod caps. All were perfectly worn looked new, not even a scratch.
So Im thinking either we didnt clean the pan good enough, it was in the pick up or my mains are fucking mashed.
We shall see. :D :noel:
Good news is it doesnt smoke, and hasnt had a issue yet. Im having a hard time tuning it. Usually the bases are pretty close and mine is way off.. oh well im working on it.

Heres a ripper. Not much of a ripper sounds like im off road or something :/
Charging the go pro so I dont have  to hold the phone.
This is it at 9.4 lbs crome says.

I like it alot :D its fun for now. We'll see how long it lasts.
I also ordered a 3 bar, Id like to be somewhere around 15 maybe.... probably more like 12 but WE SHALL SEE

Thanks everyone for all the input and RealHOMEMADE lovin

Now I need spikers ass to redo my trans and ill be super happy.
