Same shit they've done in every other decent ECU except with 0 sharing. The OBD2 stuff that they are using is very similar but has significantly more resolution that OBD1 tables. What they do better than someone without a ton of equipment and know how can do is get appropriately sized MAF sensors, bench test them, and perfectly calibrate the DME MAF table to exactly match the new MAF. Thats 75%+ of the issues people have with BMW DME's.

BMW's are gay.

I had one hit 500whp on my dyno yesterday with MS3, kid switched from stock DME because he wasn't happy with the lack of control over some stuff. Any truth to this or is he just being a mexican't?

What did he want? Launch control? That car was tuned on e85/c85 and aprently runs like stock not sure what else you would need

After MED9, I expect to be unimpressed.  Going back a few years to a more documented piece of hardware is not going to be difficult.  It'll probably take 15-20 hours on the dyno to get a basic familiarity, a couple other cars and 50 to several hundred hours spent to get truly familiar.
