I have a hard one for weber sidedrafts have 2 sets of 45mm's myself for when doomsday is upon us cant fuck with my 50 year old technology that still gets the job done. Ignition handled by oem honda vacuum advance jdm dist from oem sidedraft d15b

Hardly cheap though your looking at around 1000 just for the carbs. Can usually find used sets for 400-500 but will need rebuilds etc

Old school so cal guys were reppin those setups for years and Bisi did get into the 9's with the damn things.

i wanted to do the whole side draft thing back in my old school 74 corolla.  But i did end up checking out dennis (LDL SPEED SHOP) when he was still in fremont and he had a starlet on side drafts boosted.

13K is ridiculous.

I would have picked up the stock, black SiR with low miles for 8k any day over this.

Nice though.

people rip on carbs all the time but a properly sized (in cfm) carb can do wonders and have 'it really kicks' power curve.

cheapest way to boost a v8 too.  $30 yardsale holley + scrap steel tophat and boost mods totaling $30 with materials = $60 and your fueling is done for boost

The old Holley carb still manages to kick my ass for some reason.

And I want to get into messing with Webers.  lol.

webers have 3-5 different jets, that you tune to the engine.  holley you are within a jet or two on mains, and youre fine.   webers are a pain in the ass

Unless the PVCRs are too big or too small for your application.

Selecting the right power valve.

Accelerator pump cams.

Idle feed restrictions.

blah blah blah.

Sure they are pretty simple, but it seems like most of the Holleys I have dealt with need tons of work to not be slobbering pile of shit.  It might be different if I had ever had my hands on a HP series or one of the newer Avenger series.

Chris, yeah, I don't blame you on tha.

lol.

"old skool" carb'd d15/16's were found in Integras in the mid 90's. Chris, you dont get any motors in with these things still attached?  ??? Not webbers, I dont know what brand they were...but they were there.

Didn't someone run a big 4bbl on some simple setup and make some great power? I want to say ~200whp with a simple manifold, cheaper 4bbl, and a relatively stock motor.

Whats crazy is the price given the demand. Just like a 3000GT, its not worth X amount because you paid X amount and everyone else is selling for X amount. You're just in a market of retards. THis is why I laugh at people selling 20yr old Hondas for >$10k, especially NA or JDM moneypits. The demand for them is lower than straight sex at a church.
