Taking a break from the car pics for a second...
Ok, back to the car....
1g BOV anyone?
And Finaly, the getting down to business.
This was done with the smaller turbonettics 60/63 47 trim. I actually didn't need to change too much for the sc60 except the dp flange.
Since I was using the hard pipe inside the plastic airbox and stuff, i wanted a more accurate and discrete IAT. I drilled and tapped the back of the y8 intake out.
Some sc60 Nitty Gritty, Again sorry for all the cell phone pics. It's all I had at the time.
The oil drain can be seen in the background, In the foreground is the pipe elbows and stuff I had to use to get the oil from the filter adaptor around the turbo. I actually drilled out the pipe and elbows on the inside. The car has great oil pressure at all times, so I'm not too conscerned with it anymore.
With the heat shield in place.
I used braided covering for the iacv line b/c i figured it may help a little with the heat. I have 14,000 logged on the setup, and it hasn't melted yet.
Thats about it. I would have described the pic's, but they should speak for themselves. If anyone has any questions on anything, or want more pics, just ask. I probabally have them.
I know this is not the most efficient setup out there, and there are probably better ways to do this, but this is what I came up with. It works. I daily drove this car like this for about a year. I had put 14,000 miles of 25+psi on it from spring, through summer, and into winter. My only gripe with the setup is that it took too long to spool. I'd reach full spool around 5500-6000, and start to blow the tires off at 100. It was also awesome to mess with people on the streets. I could tell someone that it was a fully built civic with a big ass turbo running 30 pounds of boost straight to their face, let them look under the hood, and get away with it. They look at me laughing at another stupid ricer kid. I also would tell people that it was completley stock with a header, and that flew as well.
Sadly, I got greedy one day with the boost and wiped out a piston. (my boost gauge stopped reading at 30psi, and I rigged the wastegate so it would not open). I still haven't gotten the car back out on the road yet, i've been too busy playing with my accord.
I should have everything back together and on the road (and dyno) in the next month or two. One thing at a time i suppose.
Thanks for looking...
