They fucking live damn near forever with regular oil changes.  B&S used to be better, but about all those engines regardless of make seem to live quite well with oil in them

The rod journal on the crank shaft looks pretty minty in the pic.

 :P

I just blew up another B&S about 3 weeks ago...

Didn't check the oil, and seized it up tight.

lol.

WTF man?  Thats not blown up.  You can JB weld that shit together.  Blown is when you cant tell what is the crank and what is the block. I submit that you repair this immediately and try again.

your bragging about blowing up a fucking b&s engine. The only way to blow those fuckers up is to not put oil in the bitch. How dumb can you be. This isnt something to brag about.  O0

Props. I have fucked many small engines up on my minibike but have never seen a hole in the block before on a small one. Briggs and Scrap-Iron was the first mistake, i have had the best luck with the honda gx series

fuck that intec B&S bullshit. Honda from now own even if it is overpriced 3x.

Based on my experience with small Honda's, the 3x price is worth EVERY PENNY. We only get Hondas for our rentals if we have a choice, some rack up so many hours in the 3 years before we sell them, it's crazy. And that's 3 years of abuse from people who don't know engines, and/or don't give a fuck about out stuff. All ours use a oil switch on the ignition switch, that nearly eliminates oil starvation issues. Asside from when it's literally freezing outside or a leaky carb gasket, they always one-pull start. Kohler is nice, but fuck they require finesse to start cold.

I wish we could have found a new lawn tractor with a Honda GVX series engine, but B&S dominates the market it seems.

The 26 HP one we have seems to run extremely well with decent fuel economy.

The push mower is Honda powered though.  that fucker is a champ.
