I don't give two shits about the auto industry in America. Guess what, if you didn't make shitty cars forever tarnishing your reputation and pay retarded fucks with a high school diploma $30 hr and bend over and take it up the ass every time they mention strike they wouldn't be where they are.

And on top of that, the shitty people got $30.00 an hour.

Thank you unions....

First off, i do believe this is more or less to spur spending in the U.S. considering we are nothing more then a large consumer. We stop consuming, we die off in layman's terms. And the only other thing that will keep us alive, innovation and design is just not near the amount it should as we have to import heads from India, Japan and Germany just to keep engineering staff's full.

Second, look at auto sales a few months ago. Go to the ford dealerships and the Focus's already had more then 4500 dollars off sticker. And the cars being traded in were actually being recycled. So the idea of this being a "great time" to buy a car is very flawed in logic.

So aside from the waste of these parts for semi-older American cars, this program was designed to keep spending going. We stop spending, I.E. too many people owning homes and dumping their usual expendable income into their mortgage, then we fail as a country. As soon as all the upside mortgages get snatched up by the European Union and Chinese investors, who are also partially owned by upper class americans, then the economy will start heading back towards another peak and crash.

the only reason the government has "helped" the auto industry is because they make the government money.  if you think obama has stimulated the economy, i want what you are fucking high on.  obama's monopoly money will be the death of the american economy, and there are too many lazy freeloading fucksticks that don't give a fuck about it who will sit back and take the handout

Rule of thumb kids

Printing money doesnt make money.

To say we are only a consumer is foolish. There are plenty of die hard companies that produce every single part here in the states and we need to support them to keep that alive.

Also my Dad works with only one non American in his Engineering department with the department of defense. This is an office of 50+. People act like the Brains of this country went away, they didnt. They are just out numbered now and are lost in the mix.

Also the income these people had should go to something besides something that cant afford. Half of these cars will be seeing a repo man with 80 pound pitbulls around their cars in 6 months. That sounds like progress

Mr.Crxtuner can you afford a new car payment of 500+200+ for insurance. Look at these cars being traded in they are your typical low income families. They dont have 700 dollars a month to spend on a car for the next 60+months.

Now dont say oh well it was just an old junker they had. My dad as a said before gave the beater cars of the family to non-charity for tax write offs. So your going to claim people who are middle class/upper middle class kept old Gm/Ford/Dodge cars since they knew a Government 4500 rebate was going to come someday.

People who are bringing in enough cash dont like staring at that beater 91 Ford in the driveway next to the new Honda Accord.

People who still have that 91 Ford are broke hence why they have a 91 Ford.

Maybe if 98% of the shit we have in America wasn't produced out of country we wouldn't be in this crap. People have been saying for years buy American. Instead more and more places get out sourced just to give you your cheap china man junk that will break in a week for $2 less.

Start to tax the fuck out of imports. Offer tax breaks to manufacturers who build in America. There are a lot of little things that can be done to stimulate the economy more than this retarded crap.

Taxing imports is the answer, governments have been doing that for a few thousand years.

Anyone for free trade is a looter.

We got the same shit over here.

The MG-Rover group got into trouble because it almost went bankrupt. Government bailed it out and sold it to a bunch of suits for ten quid (about 16 bucks).

Suits recycled the same old shit over and over again (Honda Legends, EG/EK Civic based hatches, and MB5 Civics).

The cars were good, the company was shit. Get rid of the commies and the unions and pay a realistic wage and the car industry wouldn't be in half the shit they are in now.

And our cash-for-clunkers scheme? Gubbermint gives you a grand (1600 bucks), car makers give you about the same as long as you trade in something over ten years old. It's sickening seeing what goes in for scrap, but at least we're allowed to sell the parts off.

the best part about this is most the people who did this wont be spending any money its going to be all tied up in loans, besides food and essentials. so instead of spending money on a veriety of things they are now tied up in a LOAN and the car company sold a shitty car to pay there union employees for working really safe. they could of at least sold the cars to junkyards for a cheap price. they could of probably made money back sense we all know "up to" 4500 off non sales price is a joke.
words from my retarded married in unlce, the other day, who did the cash for clunkers before i told him what they did to the cars. "obama is a modern day robin hood" i laughed for a good while.

Ture story most americans are lazy and some how recieve a decent pay despite lack of skill .
I do not feel sorry for companies who fail becasue they have a huge overhead as a result of the lazy individuals they decide to pay top dollar for.

destroying the bad mpg engines = forcing you to get more economical engines

Except the people who are driving these old cars aren't driving them by choice, they are driving them because they are poor. Giving them a new car with a big ass payment along with the rapage of full coverage insurance on a new car is just a ignorant idea. Not to mention the TONS of waste it will make. The cars should be parted out to be sold as used auto parts. They could make it mandatory that the car that the car become a salvage title unable to be registered again and not waste a bunch of good parts.

That would make sense but the goal is to remove all older vehicles from the roads. california has been trying for sometime to get bills passed to remove all pre 96 vehicles from the streets.

This is the first major step in that direction. Government funded refunds for car purchasing is a thing that will be around for years now until majority of older vehicles are gone.

Doesnt matter if people go belly up on the loans new government laws will allow them to again try again at the world of living beyond your means.

Be a fuck up they seem like they want you too.

All of those cars were better than my car except the astro vans. Those aren't better than anything.

What's wrong with Astro Vans?

They have the 4.3 V6 in them don't they?

I hate the political reporters they have on TV. They are all the same way they are as in that video. They repeat the same thing over and over and over. They all want to ride the Presidents cock and find people who want the same to appear as "consultants" on their show with one person who always has bad things to say about them, but they give the cum guzzlers 90% air time and cut the person off not agreeing with the President off in mid sentence. Then when they fuck things up and get out of office their tune changes and they are ready to shit talk them and say they said yada yada yada from the beginning.

Fuck the media
