Autometer gauges
« on: August 20, 2009, 01:17:50 PM »

So ive had these 2 autometer gauges sittin around and i noticed the other day that one of them must have taken a tumble cause now the gauge reads like 20 psi on the oil gauge or something.  The needle isnt sitting on the peg anymore.  I cant find a scratch so who knows what happened but my question is when i hook it up will it reset or am i Fucked?

I think if you power and ground it would go back to zero...  If it was gonna work again that is....

Hmmmm now im at work and dont have em in front of me... i bought em like 3-4 years ago so i dont really remember.  Electrical are teh cheaper ones right? Im sure they are teh cheaper of the two but i will check em out when i get home.

and teh Dub was a cheap beater i got on a deal, couldnt pass it up and its a sweet daily cruiser.

My mech oil pressure did that too.  Autometer is pretty shitty, even though its one of the biggest names out there.

If you take a small flathead screwdriver and bend back the aluminum housing ring that gets crimped on, you can pull the needle off the peg and put it back on set to zero.  Mine has worked fine ever since.  It won't reset itself otherwise.

I think all cop cars need to have turbo. nbspnbsp Then they would understand the necessity of putting your foot down and how uncontrollable the urge is to fucking rail on that shit.

Yeah.  My boost gauge was like 5-6 psi off when I got it from summit.

Yeah autometer gauges suck. i had a boost gauge stuck on 5 psi. it was a pain. I always thought i was spiking when i got into boost because it was so far off
