ok a buddy of mine has a 98 ranger with the 2.5 dual spark 4cyl in it. It was running pretty shitty so he decided to give it a tuneup. Anyhow while him and his dad where trying to remove the #3 plug on the pass side the fucker twisted right off even with the head    So now im left with the task of somehow fixing it lol. The hex part of the plug is gone only the threaded part and some of the porcelain is left. Any ideas on how to get that fucker out without braking things worse? I really don't want to take the head off but will if i have to :/

Lube it up, and then lube it up and then lube it up let it sit, lube it up, drill it with a left hand drill bit, if it dosent catch with the LH drill bit then you just made a pilot hole for a ezout

ya that's probably the first thing ill try. The only thing im worried about is getting shit down in the cylinder :/ Guess i could always turn it over a bunch to blow it out once the plug is removed :/

Sure, blow out the metal shards in the combustion chamber.   

I don't think he meant to drill straight through it.  Drill slightly into it and use a bolt extractor.

make an adapter for a vacuum cleaner with a piece of tube or hose you can get down the plug hole and suck some of the metal chips out.

Magnetic pickup tool with the head cut off and epoxied to a piece of hose, just make sure you epoxy real good otherwise you will be pulling the head to get the magnet out

PB blaster, hit it like 10 times over the course of a day and then try to get in there with a needle nose

Ya these where the factory plugs and the truck is a 97 or 98 :X Anyhow my buddy had something come up work related and was forced to drive the truck for a day broken plug and all. Well he calls me on his was home saying he was going to stop by so we could try to get the damn thing out. About 10 min later he calls back and says the plug removed itself lol. I guess he went to pass someone and stepped it down it shot the plug right out. That person must have been going pretty slow. Well slower than a 4cyl ranger down a cylinder anyhow lol. He gets here and it turns out the porcelain part blew out but the threaded body is still there. Ok no need to drill now haha. We run to the hardware store and get an ez-out. Whats left of the plug comes right out. One truck fixed now i still to figure out wtf is wrong with the electrical system in his s10. And soon he is moving at the end of the month :X

I am not sure exactly how this worked.. but I had this happen to me one time.

I used a pretty large flat head screw driver and pounded it into the plug. Then I just turned it right out. Probabyl just got lucky.. but it worked.

+1 except I use di-electric or vaseline for the coolant hoses. ;D

All plugs I put in where anti-seized. We where tempted to change the #4 plug but said fuck that it runs ok as it is. This thing is just a beater truck to drive while he saves money for something decent. I though for shure the ez out was going to brake off too that sucks balls when that happens lol.

The sealing ring is usually a crush ring. Crush rings don't have to be crushed 100% to work. My coworker loves to crank plugs, however I've never had any complaint of my work coming apart. Hand snug, then wrench it 1/4 a turn or so.
