I almost poo'd myself

  We were dialing in Eddies Millers 73 Duster yesterday.  Installed new dual stage nos  controller, Digital 7 7531 box, and some other goodies. Everythings going well, as seen here, made almost 1400hp on 1 kit,  cars been 8.20@140 lifting on 1 smaller kit previously.

 So Eddie wants to hit the both kits(take 2 turn you out D series, add them together and spray it through 8 nozzles, and that might equal the second kit). My dynos been loading the car well, so i said why not. This is what happened next. It happened just after the 2nd kit came in.


Dyno run, 1900+ torque, not a good idea!

I'm not sure if the tire collapsed first or if the chain broke first, but either way it scared the orange chicken outta me.   No more standing by the dyno computer for me anymore.

There are more pictures on YB.  What looks like chipped teeth is just grease, I'm pretty sure it's just a chain.

Wow pucker up!! Nice that the parts can easily be had at an local bearing shop. Glad there isnt major damage. I probably would have poo'd a bit on that!

 Yeap just a chain (knocks on wood). It knocked all kinds of shit out of wack though, its got a few bearing retainers, alignment cogs, and tensioners.  I took everything apart and realign everything.  Its all resembled, only took a few hours.

 The chain guard did its job.  O0

 Its been on the engine dyno, cars owner has one.  Previously made 1050hp with 1100 tq on motor.  I mentioned this same idea to him though, haha

   It'd have a 3rd stage, but the chassis's only certified to 7.50. We're thinking that he should be able to hit the cert with the new nos controller, convertor, and ovedrive unit.  Cars been 7.XX before on 2 kits, but was driving right through the convertor. Car went almost as fast on 1 kit :)

   To bad Eddie didn't make drag week, i talked to him about giving you a ride in the car (no $80 ebay sponsorship needed).

    It was the master link that broke, i'm pretty sure that it was the retaining clip on the master that failed,  because the dyno has 2 chains and the rear chain was still intact but the clip had also come off. The front chain came apart at the master link. 

    Turns out i had some cheap CDM chain on there, i seen made in chinese when went to put a new section of chain on it.  When i went to my local chain/bearing shop, i asked about something better (and bitched about them selling me some cdm shit, when they knew what i was doing with it). They can order a US made chain thats rated for 50% more tq, so that should give me some more room.
