So I have the Stg 4 sprung Comp clutch in my LS-VTAK CRX with a hydro conversion.

Motherfucker grips, however it's a pain in the ass to drive in stop/go traffic.  Pedal feel is odd (doesn't engage til top of the pedal), but I think that's due to the conversion and the mc pushrod being a little short -- it's adjusted out far enough that I worry about it unscrewing even though I know it's not really possible.

Anyone else's chatter like crazy on low-rpm starts?  I really only notice it when I'm at the gate to the base and have to very slowly move one car length at a time.  Normal moving from a turn or stop light I can give it a nice bit of RPM, feather the clutch, and not have any chattering.

Moving a small distance where I can't rev it and take off, I get some car-shaking chatter that makes me feel like it's about to fall apart.  On one hand I'm hoping it's an issue with me that I can fix, on the other I'm hoping it's just a property of the clutch...

I hear a lot about these burning out to/thrust bearings...  How much truth to this?  Makes sense that they would, but still wondering.  I have about 20-30k miles on mine without issue so far.  Thrust bearings I'm not too worried about because 1) I use royal purp-al 2) I disengage the clutch until car is warmed up 3) I think I can change them without dropping the engine.  I'm using the throwout that came with the clutch, and I'm assuming/hoping it's made to last with the particular clutch -- I would have to drop the engine to change this out :(

You have just described everything that I hate about my CC sprung stage 4.  Well, you didn't mention any high RPM gear lockout....

It seems to be a little more forgiving as the weather has cooled off some, but not a whole lot.

BTW, it seems that a lot of people had/have issues with the release bearing supplied in the kit, and it seems that the common recommendation is to use an OEM Honduh one.  I used one from Worlpac(Sachs I think) and it seems to be doing its job so far.

We'll see I guess.

High RPM gear lockout?  Que?  My gears will grind trying to slam through gears at high RPM, mostly 3rd, figured it was the transmission but would be somewhat nice to hear it's a clutch thing...

I will use an OEM next time if this one goes out...  Crossing my fingers that it lasts a while.  Although I've become quite adept at ripping the drivetrain out and reinstalling it in a night after work, I still prefer not to...
