Topic: NEVER TOUCH ANY HP HEWLETT PACKARD PRODUCTS (Read 7059 times)

So this company makes lack luster products and has been pissing me off in the little i have had to deal with them.
For a simple story and i will note it like this

-Girlfriend gets hp laptop as gift

-hp makes shitty product and when she goes back to school a year later and uses the laptop more it breaks

-apparantly her series is notorious for motherboard overheating issues and it causes deterioration of the wifi card causing it to be spotty for a few weeks then transitions over to not working. And eventually stops working all together.

-so it was recalled and they replaced the motherboard for free

-2 weeks later this "so called revision" in the motherboard that fixes the overheating issue really just means they replaced it with the same board as before.

-so i get a case manager, they tell me that within three days i will have a fedex box with shipping materials and that it will be free of cost

-so 2-3 weeks have gone by and im on the phone with them right now, with a case number that now apperantly doesn't exist and they are asking for 541.38usd to repair the laptop.

Cliffs*Hp go die like GM just withoutn goverment subsidization

good luck, they did the same shit when my pc died and was under warrenty. 'Your pc is out of warranty and is outdated, you should really look into a new one I can offer you some great deals on HP shopping dot com' FUCK YOU HABEEB!

My HP laptop is ok other than the touch pad scroll feature and the WI-FI needs the driver re-installed every now and again.

My Tablet PC is a HP and works great. A brand I really hate is toshiba. My girlfriend bought a toshiba 3 years ago and the HD was dead on purchase. Took 1 month to get it back and 6 month later the LCD was dead. Had to wait another 2 months ...

Most new laptops suck balls, one way or another. All are too damn fragile. That's why I'll be getting a Lenovo/IBM as my next tuning laptop. This dell is about to kick the bucket.

I bought a Dell latitude D620 about 3 years ago. It was top of the line when new, and came in at 2k bucks. It's killed two batteries so far and I anticipate it needing a new one in 6-8 months. But other than that, it just works. Overall I've been happy with it. No crashing, no freezing up, nothing. I'll probably need a new laptop in a year or two, and when the time comes, if Dell is still building decent stuff, I'll buy another.

I fix computers on the side and HP's are always shitty. I was actually impressed by the budget Len-something, I can't recall the name exactly but it was built sturdy and thing ran like a champ when I was done with it. Some HP's you cant even put on your lap they get so hot

My toshiba lappy is about to get its 3rd HD in a 1.5yr so I know what you mean this sucks.

On the other hand my cheap ass Acer lappy I have had for 3yrs I have only replaced the RAM.

All my desk tops Gateway and Dell all shit themselves with in 2yr. each.

Forgot to mention my HP also shuts down when I try tuning my car unless I run a power inverter to power the AC adaptor (couldnt find a DC adaptor that would work for some damn reason)

Don't know what the fuck thats all about, does fine till I get about to the end of my driveway and it turns off. Thought the battery was loose, nope, Fuck it, I can get around it, just looks funny with some cords hanging out of the door going to the trunk.

I sent my wifes in for that, it was wayyy out of warranty but it was a recall so they fixed it. FYI it only affects the AMD MB's.
WHen i sent it in, on the sheet that came with the box, i also marked that it was missing a keyboard key, and left hinge was broken, they said they would call me with a price if there was anything over the MB replacement that was wrong with it.

Long story short, they never called me, 6 days after shipping it out, i had it back, with a new left hinge, new motherboard, new entire keyboard, new battery and new backside pretty screen cover... For free.....

I think its all in who you talk to and how you talk to them.

Mine did the same thing, first it wouldn't turn on. Damn thing got so hot it burnt my leg...then the wireless went bad...sent it back...got a new mother board. a few months later it did the same thing again...wireless on wireless off.....turn on sometimes not other times....i got fed up and bought a dell.

my cheap ass compaq has worked great for the 300 it cost me. use it constantly, always on cuz i'm always dl'n or ul'n, run lots of progs and do a lot of shit on it and no complaints yet, works like a champ. btw most laptops are like cell phones, they are made to be short lived so you buy another one in a year or two

Almost every 7th and 8th graders in my school district plus high school tech academy that I attend, all use the same HP laptops. I have done a lot of stupid shit to mine and it still works like a champ 9 months later. Battery life is still at 9 hours with an extended battery. Charged and drained 100% every day.

I guess it's all up to the user and how they take care of their shit. Any laptop with cpu cooling fan coming out the bottom will have an overheating issue cause dumbfucks like to put them on their beds/couches/other soft material. Why don't those fucks use common sense for once. It's like sticking a pillow in your face, and then wonder why the fuck you ran out of breath and died. 95% HP laptops have bottom mounted fans.

So,
1. Don't buy a laptop with a fucking fan on the bottom, make sure it's on the back or the side.
2. Take care of your shit, these are not made by honda so don't treat it like one.

When was the last time you cleaned the fan and side vents?

I clean mine every 3 mo.

I did have problems with Vista on my acer b/c I had a really early version.

After I deactivated all the b.s. trial software offers on my computer.

I found that my acer worked a hell of alot better when I unistalled Norton and McAfree, since both of them running at the same time freeze up my computer.

Use to be if look in my task manager I would have 71 process going now I have 44 process going.

I would go through a Gig. of RAM about every 6 mo. then after unistalling all the uneeded software my CPU was not maxing out.

Now if only I can get some better graphics my race games. ;D
