went autocrossing this weekend Saturday and sunday at PIR with the SCCA solo people. was a lot of fun. car did really good. I was really pretty happy with how it performed being bone stock.
Saturday I ran a best of 43.0... for comparison's sake there were c5 z06 corvettes running 36-38 with cheater slick type tires. there were some BRZ running 38-39 with sport tires (good street tires) a c6 zr1 with slicks ran 35.6 for best time of the day.
the second day they changed the course a little bit to make it about 1 second slower, that day I ran 41.2 but I tipped a cone so it wasn't official, but I ran an official clean run of 41.5. so I gained a lot of time, I was pushing he car pretty hard. not sure how much I could squeeze out of it after that with the tires it has on it... (it has eagle f1 all seasons, which are pretty damn good for all seasons)
tons of miatas out there of course, lots of BRZ cars. a few Honda cars, lots of corvettes, a few mustangs (they were horrible) a few random cars like a SHO, Datsun z car, old school BMW
there was a guy out there railing the shit out of a c4 vette he got one of the fastest times on the second day.
the Camaro didn't understeer too bad unless it was my on fault for being on the brakes too much or too late, lots of oversteer but very controllable, never even came close to spinning out, and used it a lot to get the nose turned in. I won my class "stock f class" both days, the first day I was by myself but the second car there were some mustangs there, I think they include them in the "f" class but not 100% sure. boy the mustangs were horrible, there was a fox body GT that could barely turn (like my old one at slow speed) so much understeer, and a mid 90s cobra that wasn't too bad, but it was still really slow he was running like 45 seconds, there was also a new 5.0 on some sticky street tires that was running about the same times as me, sounded badass but didn't really look very fast not sure what the deal was. those new mustangs look HUGE out there. its a really big car, tons of body roll and it was all over the place.
this was the last even in Portland area. I think I might do it next year for points. didn't get any pictures of my car but I snapped a couple while I was sitting around.
