Aligning fender and door
« on: June 02, 2009, 08:38:12 PM »

So when I went to look at my hatch it was a little dusky and couldn't see everything. After I got it (even though it has a clean carfax) I can see it has been hit and they replaced the door (when I took the panel off to install keyless it is red). The fender looks original, and has the VIN printed on it, so I assume they took it off the replace the door.

Anyways, when I open the door (passenger side) it kinda "pops" open when I pull the handle. Also the fender and door don't align with the pillar as you can see from the pictures bellow. The door leaks a little right around where it sticks out too, so I not only need to align it to make it look right, but to fix the leak. So my question is what is the easiest way to align the door and fender? This is on a 99 Civic Hatchback

Your pillar looks bent in.
Best thing to do is not notice it and sell it...

maybe the door just got hit an was dented.  I wouldn't sell it, take it to a body shop and see what they say, just tell them you are getting a few quotes, hopefully you can fix it urself

What kind of car is it? My crx pops when I open the door, but its the limiter thats busted on it not a bad alignment. I know that ist pretty common for people to over extend there honda crx doors and bust the spot welds on the back side of the limiter.

This is on a 99 Civic Hatchback

What kind of car is it?

I looked at it today and the fender has washers to make it match the door. I'm guessing he changed doors and didn't align it so just made the fender align it.
