They aren't as expensive as you'd think.

Especially the non TSX K24s.  They are free these days.

My buddy had a K20 Type R head that was fucked off. So we compared it to his CRV head he was swapping onto his TSX block. Ports, and almost all of the casting looks identical. And you can get CRV motors for next to shit. Best flowing ports for pennies.

The only thing that gets expensive, is the KPro. Other than that, if you can make custom mounts for a D16A1 tranny, you can make custom mounts for a K swap. And if you can wire OBD1 shit, you can wire in the K series. I havent fucked with a K swap, but I wonder why you see everyone buying a Karcepts shifter or whatever the fuck that is, rather than fabricating the stock shifter to fit their chassis???

I would imagine if you had the tools, you could do a K swap for under 1500.

I have looked into it. yard's around here want $700+ for the k20a2 long block by its self. $900 for a rsx 5 speed tranny. to me it if always cost and I'm impatient. I dont make shit at work but love what I do. fuck to put the ls together took me almost 4 years and it's nothin special.

Last time I talked to him it was going to be a Neptune dealer thing. It doesn't sound like he will put it out for people to tune themselves.

I am guessing drive by wire as K poo does not support DBW applications if I am not mistaken.  I think only Flash Poo will.

Fuck a k20a2, fuck an RSX five speed.

Around here, the "non desireable" K24s are between 500 and 750.  Snag an EP3 trans for about 500 and you have a cheap engine and trans combo.

I only know because I have seriously considered it several times now.  If I  did't love ED chassis cars so damn much, I would have done it by now.  I refuse to run with no hood, or the madd tyte JDM hood tilt, or a uber monstrous looking hood to clear a K24 on a DD.

Granted, the notl in swap parts are still not cheap.

Meh...
