A nifty link to how some GM 60* V6 guys are cleaning and testing injectors.

I don't get why he chopped up the fuel rail to mount them on a pipe. Why not just use the stock rail/rails?

You've never seen the retarded design of a 60* V6 fuel rail?  I like the retainer clips (when not clotted up with garbage to the point they don't slide around) but past that no thank you.

Mine's even more simple - four 16oz soda bottles, d16 fuel rail w/stock fpr, del sol fuel pump in a walmart stainless/glass jar, stock CRV filter, a PWM circuit to drive them, and zip ties to hold injectors on. My only problem is the DIY pwm circuits in general suck because nobody thought outside the box to power anything besides LED's and small motors.

I simply measure the bottles before & after with the jewler's scale I bought for balancing my forged internals and when I sell pot. As for cleaning shit, I've just used straight injector cleaner, sea foam, mineral spirits, and something else (I forgot). One interesting note is that at 100% duty with 450cc DSM's, your fuel pressure will be ~30psi max with a stock civic pump. I'm replacing the pump with a dohc vtec pump that should pump 70% more.

The other thing I use is a $30 ultrasonic cleaner. It works fairly well, especially when I have it hooked up to the PWM to work them while cleaning. Overall I have less into it than sending out four injectors for "professional" cleaning...

The only bad thing is the cheap units aren't powerful enough for the dried exterior grime. Engine Brite and a rag work fine though. The pintles, however, end up cleaner than my ass on a sunday! :mexi:

Seen this before, I'm curious as to how well is works though. I am temped to pick up some high flash point solvent and an ultrasonic cleaner from Harbor Freight just to give it a run.

Don't you have to have a reverse flow rig setup to back flow solvent through the injectors while they are energized?

Gentleman...

I am the original designer and builder of "The FrankInjector Machine". In order to edify those interested and prove how well it works... please visit my photobucket listed below with almost 300 digital images and 30 videos that follow its development from my conception of this idea through three generations leading to what is arguably the last and best functioning version. Many of your questions can easily be answered here:

http://s557.photobucket.com/albums/ss19/60dgrzbelow0/HOMEMADEEFICLEANER/

As for the reason why I "chopped off" the EFI Fuel Rail Inlets and aligned them along the two brass pipe segments... the logical reason has to do with the need for all six (6) or eight (8) fuel injectors IN LINE so that a  better visual examination of how they Flow Balance inside the 50 ml plastic EFI Cleaner Collection Tubes to establish how they perfom side by side as a full set. Nothing about this project was easy...  but doing the project was interesting and very vindicating in the end. This machine is the Real Deal and will do everything in concert with the use of the EUMAX Ultrasonic Cleaner to accomplish everything that needs to be done to properly service and re-condition EFIs Off The Vehicle. If others have different ideas on how this can better be done...please post the links to your own finished functioning designs and share it with us all. Thanks for the cross links to my work!  ;)

Welcome aboard

now post some porn.

It's funny you should mention porn... because of late, I have been getting requests from all over  to design and build what I'll have to call "The HumpInjector Machine"... which has its own set of technological design and function problems... starting with the prototype version called "The Heat Seeking Moisture Missile Receptacle".... ;D

Glad to have you aboard whether it's for these three posts or for three hundred thousand, but you need to understand that this is a gentleman's club and not Just Another Car Site.  The porn posts are a time honored tradition dating back to when I came up with the idea.  Not that n00b intro posts hadn't been thematically littered with requests for beautiful naked women well before I laid out the ground rules, but people like me get a rep for being smart simply because we can state the obvious five minutes before it occurs to anyone else.

<insert Captain Obvious picture here>

Go to the General Discussion forum, title the thread something to the effect that it's a NSFW n00b intro, sum yourself up in 25 words or less and toss in 2-6 pics of your current ride/project and 5-1,000,000 pics of beautiful naked women.  Hearts will be won, you will be welcomed into the fold, and you be flown overnight to the motherland (Pac NW) for the next dyno day on a French-Canadian's dime where you will meet other Internet Superstars and associate with up and coming wine makers.

A better choice (only because it will be much safer) and suggestion is for you to get some non-flammable "Purple Power" concentrated de-greasing cleaner available from AutoZone (or Formula 88...if you can find it...) and check out eBay for the EUMAX heated Ultrasonic Cleaning Unit. It will clean the crap off of ANYTHING that will fit it its large SS bucket and has a very long duty cycle ...with the ability to increase the cleaning performance due to the 65 degrees C of heat that can be added via the sealed, solvent proof digital control panel... Look through my live videos here to see how well  it works... and you will have a "0" risk of an explosion or fire from spontaneously igniting any flammable cleaning solutions!
