Quick and dirty aw11 tuning options
« on: February 10, 2012, 04:14:41 AM »

Hey, do any of you nogs have experience with 1st gen mr2s? A co-worker of mine is trying to find a cheap way to tune it. All the message boards are full of standalone strokers. Can the stock board be modded to  run an emulator?

No the stock board, can not be modified cheaply, TechTom (if I spelled it right) is the only way on those.

What is exactly being done to the engine?

Power adders?

Also if you ask nicely I'm sure there would a few members who explain the use of a good pgmfi (honda ems) conversion on his.  :noel:

I think all cop cars need to have turbo. nbspnbsp Then they would understand the necessity of putting your foot down and how uncontrollable the urge is to fucking rail on that shit.

24 = ne = Blue
23 = ox = Blue
22 = vta = Yellow
21 = thw = Green
20 = tha = White
19 = -
18 = -
17 = -

If you want to read the whole thing... some other useful info in there too.

There was a guy in the UK that had done some neat stuff with the MAP based AW11 ECU, but I forget where I saw that at, and I am doubting you have a MAP based ECU.

Thank you guys for all the helpful tips. I figured megasquirt was gonna be the best option but I had to ask. I told him about the Honda set up but he didn't wanna go that path. we are trying to have a good out budget turbo shoot out. I have an a6 and he is trying to turbo his 4age.

Thanks pitobread, I'll save that pin out!!!

one thing about that write up is the ignition stuff, the canadian setup *might* be different. even if it is you can run a cheap bosch smart module, then all you do is trigger it off the led(same one in that pic).

There's a bloke in england who hacks MR2 ECUs. He's done both the 4AG and 3SGT. His name is Jeremy, and he used to post on MR2homoC as JMLRAW11 or something like that. Guy was a fucking genius. Hacked, wrote a GUI for and designed/produced a daughterboard for the 3SGT ECU in like 3 weeks. In his spare time.

This was about 5 years ago. No idea where he is now.

Yeah I had an email correspondence with him a few years ago, North American ECU's use a different processor and are not the same as the ones he had been hacking.
