X cam and stock heads is retarded.  It'll make a bunch of noise and go nowhere fast.  Save that shit for a set of aftermarket heads.

You want a E303 and 1.6 rockers, some decent shelf dual plane IM, and take your pick of 650 Holley/Edelbrock with vacuum secondaries.  The Edelbrock is an easy out of the box carb, the Holley will make more power but you'll have to tweak on it to get it set up and then tweak some more every time the weather changes.

Now get your carbureted bullshit out of my EFI forum.

X303 cams are just lumpy and shitty Imho. E303 ftw. Put a demon on that bitch and call it a day. An x303 will give you mad interference if I remember correctly.

X303 is a good cam, just not for a stock engine.

If it was my car I would,  Get a wolverine 1087 camshaft(or whoever is cutting them now)
A 650 holley will fit the bill and since your going blow thru it will be the easiet to convert(mechanical secondaries if your gonna convert it, yes you can convert a vacuum secondary but it's a bitch).
A weiand stealth intake is a great choice.
Cylinder heads! gt-40's are a cheap upgrade but with the price of afr's,edelbrock's,trick flow, etc its not really worth it to gt-40's on.
Headers,exhaust, and suspension work.

going with edelbrock for now for the simplicty of it all and when its time to upgrade im just gunna get a real nice carb im just trying to get it on the road for now witth college student income. Wehn im making some better money this summer ill upgrade and plan on geting some AFR's

the current heads on it are the nasty stock cast ones but when the engine was previously rebuilt by the old owner they went thru the heads 1.72 roller rockers, upgraded springs, retainers,& pushrods gunna port them to match gaskets as well. It will get me by until i can upgrade
