I have never had an anxiety attack until about 5 months ago. It was when the economy got bad and I had no phone calls and no work. There were many things that I had no control over and I had so much anxiety and fear that I felt like I was going to have a heart attack. My doctor prescribed me xanax, and it calmed me down. They are habit forming and don't work as well after awhile. But considering the alternative, it is worth it to me. If your anxiety is so bad tat you can't function, it will drastically affect your like in a negative way. I'm not saying to go get some xanax, I'm just saying go to your doctor and ask about it.

Either way, it will pass, and either way the anxiety will never fully go away. We all hit that rough patch, some more than others. I am a very motivated person, and have never had an issue with medical problems in the past. Try to keep busy. And like someone else said. Stay on a normal schedule with sleep.

Just curious as if anyone else has anxiety problems. when i was younger i used to have panic attacks on a regular basis and they went away for a while. in the past coupld months i have been extremly stressted. i graduate school in 8 weeks and am moving to a new town and basically starting on my own. been living by myself for 1 year but its just because of school now i have to worry about living on my own. anyways, i have been feeling very tired/burned out. i also have been feeling like i am almost stoned all day long. I dont do any drugs however i feel as if im partially asleep and not 100 percent awake all the time. The more i think about it the worse it gets. If i dont think about it i dont really notice it. anyone else have weird problems with anxiety?

I had anxiety problems when I was young, a lot of people do.

You just sound like you're burnt out.  That happens to a lot of people in their 3/4th year of college.  Trust me... it's going to be OK.  You just need some time off (8 weeks out) and being in a new town will be like a vacation.

Where you moving to?

moving to watertown wisconsin. smaller town outside of madison. getting a townhouse with a friend of mine. very nice place for me, just life seems to be getting a lot different now that its time for me to pay the bills etc. im going to see a doctor on fri to talk about my feeling of unreality. ive felt like it for the past week. seems like my mind is sort of cloudy and im not 100 percent awake. used to feel this occasionally but never this long. parents have problems with anxiety so i hope its just that causing it.
