my C16 pinout is brown wire, trying to connect UEGO
« on: November 09, 2009, 01:25:36 PM »

setup:

D16A6 stock , T28 SR20 Turbo, 460cc injectors. OBD0 with PR4

This is the problem.

I can't read "values" in Ecucontrol.

I tried today connect to my UEGO to my PR4 ecu, but C16 pinout has a brown wire, my car is a EF that came with DOHC ZC stock, not O2 sensor, came with IMA Sensor. right now, i installed D16A6 engine with its engine wiring (from CRX, that came with o2 sensor white wire, stock).

i dissable o2 sensor. and engine works good.

now im trying to connect UEGO with ecu , i have to wire it up to C16 pinout (white wire) but mine is brown, i did and able o2 sensor, not cel but in ecucontrol looks like o2 sensor is not working.

I did set in options AEM Wideband ,etc, etc. i think shuold works but im pretty sure that problem is with that fucking ima sensor and that brown wire in C16 pinout.

IMA sensor has 3 wires, white/yellow and green/white and brown, i did a wiring continuity test of those 3 wires and white/yellow is C13, green/white is C12, BUT, brown colour , i didnt get continuity of C16, i was thinking should has continuity since both are brown wires, but i was wrong.

i dont know how to do for get ecucontrol works with my AEM WB. i can't see fuel trace works..

any help ill appreciate it a lot.

What is an IMA sensor?  I knew some overseas PM7/etc came with no O2, but ???

I've never used ECU Control, Teg2Boo is probably going to be the one to help with that.  Can't you log through TE?

Idle mixture adjust .

Here more info.

Quote
IMA Sensor (Idle mixture adjust)
Honda say    Defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor.
Implications : Probably substitution of fixed value if input is not within range.
Comment:Sometimes known as the CO Pot. This is fitted to OBD-0 ECU's in some vehicles that do run an lambda sensor. This only applies to some some markets, like the UK where fitting of a catalytic converter was not law until 1991. The input is simply a potentiometer that is used to trim the base fuelling - hence the name CO pot.

Log through TE? how? i dont use romulator or ostrich, that's what you means?

Very interesting, O2 sensor equipped VWs of the same era have "CO pots".

You should be able to datalog through TurboEdit just like ECUControl.

I don't know anything about TE v3.x or ECU Control plug ins for it.  I've used TE v2.x all of three times, and when I did so it worked great.

What wire are you using on the UEGO?  Have you verified that it is putting out a voltage?

Either of the first two settings will set your 0-5v output as 10-20 AFR, it just toggles whether the display reads AFR or lambda.

Make sure the black wire (ground) is connected to the engine block near the thermostat housing.  Run the white wire to C16.

Hi, I have an EF with Dohc zc, I did all my tuning with BRE which has its own datalogging. (TE never worked well for me, though it has worked for many.)
You can totally forget the Ima—it's not going to work or even going to be addressed by the ecu when you run the pgmfi files.
Myself, I spliced C16 (brown wire) and connected the WB output to it and voilà. With the pgmfi software it should not make any difference whether its D16A6 or ZC. Perhaps try BRE (there's a version for PM6/Pr4's) and see if it works for you...

here's the Bre page
http://forum.pgmfi.org/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=8987
the file you want is the "obd0testing" one—works with PM6, etc.
It's been quite a while since I tuned it, but yeah you just need to connect it to C16. I had a different Wb than you, but I kinda remember being two outputs on the LM1 and only one worked, is your output the right one? Sorry can't be of much help, it's been too long!
cheers
