Help identifying nissan turbo
« on: January 25, 2010, 12:48:01 AM »

got this turbo from a friend who got it from a friend of his with a red top sr20det 200sx. thing is i know the red tops came with the t25 but this guy has swapped on so many turbos on his car that its hard to keep track but he says its a t28 but based on on my goggle searches it appears to be a t25. Can anyone clarify ?

No hablar espanol.. the site you liked me to is spanish. Thanks anyways

holy fuck @ that manifold and @ the block

Blocks was just used to take measurements and for propping purposes, 4agze to be built is still in car. As for manifold.... cost me $0.00 and even that exceeded my budget. RHMT topmount FTMFW  :mexi:

Lol Thanks !?!

1st attempt at turbo manifold

That fucker would not clear the tranny mount and oil filter so i threw it away. Probably would have fit if i cut it higher and angled flange but i was to lazy too try.

Can anyone identify the turbo ?

so its a t28 ? What are the distinguishing physical features of a rb25det turbo ?  Not to familiar with rb's but most of the rb25det t28 from google searches i seen has "45v2 nissan " on the compressor cover where as the rb20det t28 has "16v nissan motor". mine has "16v 12 nissan motor", Is this relevant ?

its a 5afe manifold with a 4age 20 head flange and t25 flange welded on top with some 14 bots cause i couldn't find any pieces of thread in the garage. Bottom of the manifold will be drilled later on to add 38mm waste gate flange when i get one

weld turbo flange with some sawed off 14 or 9/16 bolts in place of where wastegate is in pic and presto you got a top mount manifold.

Since the manifold is getting so much RHMT love might as well start a build thread

I did 10 min of google searching to find that information. I have no clue the actual measurments and specs. But it looks like a great street turbo to me.

i also have a oddball garrett/nissan turbo im trying to id...
a buddy of mine found this turbo in the garage at his new place, the guy that use to own the place said
it was off a 88-89 300zx and said take it and he gave it to me.
i searched around all over and the turbo looks nothing like the t25 off the 88-89 300zx from the pics that i have seen.

the turbo is a garrett with a odd flange and the a/r's are .60/.67, also the wastegate actuator is actually molded to the comp housing, and the center section is a 4 bolt not a 6 like the t3's.

so can anyone help with that???,,, if not i will start a new post, and go dig this turbo out of a box that is burried in the back garage.
