Well no one will buy anything from you if it looks like shit. Theres a reason it took me sense 06' to get to where i'm at, and i'm not even considered to be a good welder. Able to weld yes, but i can't charge a premium like the good guys.

Jay, a MIG may not be a bad idea. You can still make money with it. Just switch up what you want to sell. I built a bumper for my jeep for about $80. I beat the shit out of it for a year and sold it used and hammered for $350. I could have sold it 15 times. I had it sold in less than 5 minutes on the jeep forums.

There is an ass for every seat. Make the seat, find the asses.

Dave, buk wants to play in the Honda turbo manifold world where everyone expects CC-Fab prices and next day turnaround.

Well my inconsistency in flange welding is my big killer. That and my lack of experience in welding Aluminum. I can lay a pretty nice bead in the open but get me boxed in a tight area and i seem to freeze up still. But i still learn everyday. It doesn't help i use a #17 torch, haha

A buddy of mine sells mig welded headers still to this day. Simple is your lack of knowledge is why your stuck thinking the way you do.

Again where do you think you can become an internet success? The market is over saturated and the cast manifold business cdm has taken away the majority of people wanting log manifolds.

Learn how to do general repairs aka mig welder like exhaust repair. You will not make a living making manifolds nor even pull a profit

Look at weir. Good guy. Skilled and he cant make a profit. So he has 15+ years on you, he is white and has been an internet sales dude with a good rep for 5+ years and cant make a profit. You think your better than him or other people of his background.

My point. If you want to learn to weld great. No one is going to pay someone who has no experince in business nor skill level. You do know the average welding program is years right.

This is also a problem. Its easy once you've done it for a while. Welding is one thing. Accurate fitment is another.

This^^^  I know i rag on you for being dumb as shit, but you have to understand that most of us started out making our own stuff then months/years later started selling these things.

Now is it easy for me to whip up a log manifold? yes.

Could i do it as fast/accurate when i was into it a dat/month/year? NO!!!

Thats what were saying, it takes a LONG time before you can get fast enough that making a honda manifold is even remotely profitable.

I have a feeling telling him not to do something is just going to make him try harder.

Listen to what was said about mig welding bumper.  4x4 guys are willing to spend money on parts that work, Honda guys think they can run 9's on free CDM parts.

Very good point like csaddict said, 4x4 guys love spending money on quality built shit. I have a freind who dropped huge cash for an arb bumper.

Yea, I know a couple 4x4 guys that spend a ton on parts. As soon as I can get a hold of a truck, I'm going to start making parts for it and see if I can make a living on that shit

Pretty much anyone OTHER than the Honda crowd will spend money on quality parts. It's mainly the Honda guys that want everything for nothing.

I do a lot of classic car exhaust. I hate doing exhaust but the shop gets between $2000-$2500 from those guys so how can I bitch. Every time I tell them its more money they always pay so what am I to do.

Can you imagine a Honda guy paying $2k for exhaust? LOL right.

The honda crowd does buy mugen parts

In general though the majority of the people who are in the Honda crowd who actually track their car are older and have a little bit of cash. They will spend money.

Now when you can buy a car for under 2k it does bring in some wannabe's but they dont buy anything anyway so you just ignore them. They might buy a couple cheapo things off ebay but ask any of them if they have actually raced their cars even if they are slow and 99 percent have never seen a 1/4 mile track in a car and never will.

People doing swaps/track days etc in the Honda world are usually older.
