That's a huge reason to NOT buy it. anyone selling a working condition welder wouldn't have an issue with it being tested.

Wait to buy the nice welder and get the welding advice/help. as you NEED it.

I have a sync 200 also.  Very happy I bought that instead of the econotig or the other little box they have out now.  I do sorta wish I would have saved a little and just shelled out the cash for the dynasty. Best thing I've done so far is throw away the shitty torch it comes with and pick up the ck worldwide superflex, which is cheaper than the weldcraft junk.

Really?  Mind if I come over and check it out?  So far I have had no complaints with the weldcraft torch, although I did just move up from the HF tig:)

Sure when I originally got the weldcraft torch that came with the machine I loved it, but I have gone through 3 of them since I've had the welder.  Seems like they just don't hold up well to what I put them through.  The CK is built better and the cable/hose is even thinner, not to mention the torch has a flex head that is super helpful, as soon as I threaded the first gas lense into the torch head it felt a million times more sturdy. It's one of those things that you wouldn't notice unless you used them both a lot separately.  The reason I new about the torch differences is because we have dynasty's at work and work will only replace parts with CK parts because they are cheaper.

If you don't know how to weld I could see it being a problem, otherwise, what you are saying does not make any sense. The dynastys are the least complex welding machines I own.

True, but I mean you can run a dynasty in dc without any additional arc shaping, it'll still weld smoother than most machines.

BTW I have been meaning to call you for a couple weeks, that 24v head you gave me, is the generation with shitty valve seats. They aren't an actual seat ring, but rather machined into the head, and they like to crack. We can work with this one, but for the amount of abuse you guys will put it through we'd have to come up with a new seat arrangement. I know I'm shitty for not having told you this sooner, I kinda forgot with the move going on.
