Thats right, we would hate to have competent people who actually accomplish shit and not troll everyone here.

Fixed for accuracy.

As blatantly obvious this troll thread is, a little part of me hopes still that it is not, as the excessive amounts of fail are far to entertaining.

i have used a few different dynasty's... and they are not really to my liking... a lil too complicated for everyday welding...

If you don't know how to weld I could see it being a problem, otherwise, what you are saying does not make any sense. The dynastys are the least complex welding machines I own.

LOL, Dave that isn't saying much... But I do agree, my Dynasty is super straight forward.

True, but I mean you can run a dynasty in dc without any additional arc shaping, it'll still weld smoother than most machines.

*start threadjack*
BTW I have been meaning to call you for a couple weeks, that 24v head you gave me, is the generation with shitty valve seats. They aren't an actual seat ring, but rather machined into the head, and they like to crack. We can work with this one, but for the amount of abuse you guys will put it through we'd have to come up with a new seat arrangement. I know I'm shitty for not having told you this sooner, I kinda forgot with the move going on.
*end threadjack*

cut the old ones out and hammer new valve seats in, problem solved.

There aren't any old ones in there, the seat is a machined feature of the casting, not a separate ring like on aluminum heads. The cracks run pretty deep on this head, likely not worth salvaging. We could machine some counterbores to accept custom seats, but its a lot of time and money.

Like Dave said it isn't worth it for this application, this heads entire life after this point will be about abuse. We will just find another head.

i want to know more about cummins heads

They are heavy, have lousy casting consistency, have an integrated intake manifold that is garbage, crack too easy, and are out flowed by even the worst vw head. If the cummins bottom end wasn't so redonkulus in stock form, and found in so many applications making parts cheap, there is no way I would touch it.

Supposedly someone is going to release an aftermarket head before to long, with some decent ports too it, but I am not holding my breath.

I can't tell you much about making the stock ones better, or the valve seats or shit like that, but Dave can, and that is why my heads go to him.

This thread must deliver more fail or Buk's welds. The more fail just might be Buk's welds though.
