So I recommended a customer of mine to Matt, aka turbob16hatch for a custom turbo manifold.

The plan was $500+$50(or maybe it was $450+50, I don't recall atm) to chip in to buy an F22A motor and it would be done before March hit.

It's now well into March(its been 2 months now) and not a single progress pic has been sent. He originally said it would only take him 2-3 days to make the manifold after he got the flanges. The ONLY pic he has sent was one of a dirty engine that I couldn't even tell if it was an F22A.

He's been ignoring my phone calls and texts lately. He gets back to me eventually, but only gives me excuses about why he hasn't been able to go to his shop to work on the manifold. He promises pics of progress and never delivers. Just yesterday he finally got back to me and he said he'd have pics today. I've sent  him a few texts today and haven't got a single reply.

On one instance, he told me he built someone else a manifold only because they had payed a lot for the work required.

If the manifold isn't shipped by this week then a paypal claim will be made.

Just letting everyone know Matt's business ethics.

  I've dealt with, and met him. He made the shuttle stuff on the super cheap, and lagged on the timeframe. Seems like a great enough guy, with great craftsmanship, but the timeframes he gives always seem to be a problem. I think even his friend told me that about him, and I doubt Matt himself would disagree.  I sent my greatest local race homie to him, he took his whole fucking car to Matt, and then the timeframe fell off. Well, we both have our stuff, and the product he makes is excellent, but his timeframes are always fucked, so yeah, he IS the new hotrex.

  Just as with hotrex, you'll get what's eventually coming, but unlike hotrex, the product will be flawless. I think without this timeframe issue he'd really have something going for himself. If you need him off'd however, PM me.

Everything I've seen and heard about him and his products agree with what you just said as well. Which is why I originally recommended him to my customer.

Some people have time frames and if he can't work within them, then he should say so. I'd really hate to see this go sour, as I think he's pretty cool asides from this BIG issue.

+1 You have nothing to lose, file it. It always either speeds them up, or speeds up you getting your money back.

I think  6 weeks is a fair amount of time to wait for custom fab work after that its just being lag city. The guys work looks great and he seems to add some solid tech info but I would give him once more shot at sending some pics by tomorrow evening after that if nothing I would file the claim.



This is coming from someone who does port work/machine work so I know sometimes things get backed up but you have to stay on top of things. I have been sick for the last week like the 3rd time this year but Im still grinding away and running the lathe.

Well i will say i am bad at wait times. But my work doesn't suck and really i'm not making excuses here. I over shot the time line given and that is my fault. Theres no need for a claim as the manifold is done and at the machine shop. It will be sent out when i get it back like i told jose, but i understand that he wants to see it done.

jose you knew i had trouble finding a engine to mock up the f22 stuff, now i shouldn't have taken payment untill i was damn sure the guy had the engine. Again i failed to secure the engine before taking payment. So i went to a junk yard and bought a damn running f22a for $150 to get this done. that ate up a few weeks running around finding a engine. stupid but the truth.

there isn't much else other then it will be sent out this week, and thats about it.

the problem is, if you've invested a lot of time into building something you won't be able to sell to anyone else and the buyer flakes because it took you too long to build, you are out some $.  that happened with the s2000 intake manifold i built, that is now stolen.

This is pretty much the only problem. He doesn't communicate with me or the customer, I have to ask. Also..Matt wasn't really bugged until after a month. That's plenty of time to build a manifold, which he did, just not for me.

I don't care if you're Tony Palo's or Chris Miller's fabricator. If you tell me my shit's going to be done at a certain time then get it done. If not, there are plenty of others that can and do get shit done in a timely manner.

I gave him business because I wanted to help out a fellow nog and he turns around and feeds me bullshit.
