Crome help please!!!!
« on: April 04, 2010, 06:22:39 PM »

I'm using Crome 1.5.3 free, Flash & Burn, and Moates Burn 2.

One car a '94 GSR, chipped P72, 2g T-25, stock inj. and map sensor.
I had run quite well with DSM 390cc inj. Then the guy want his stock injector on it so he can trade it for a bike.
Now the car runs like it is in limp mode but no CEL.
And yes his CEL does work.

The other car just has a stock z6, chipped p28, stock inj., t3/t4 w/ the internal wg wired open for the moment and no CELs also.

Both cars idles weird, when they start, will not rev. past 4k sometimes 3k.

Both on Crome 1.5.3 and using my Moates Burn 2.

I have used both Crome and Moates Burn 2 successfully at least 10 times and never had this problem.

I have experienced something similar to this before when I had a bad map sensor but the GSR ran fine before inj. swap.

And the z6 runs fine with a unchipped p06.

I already tried another proven chipped p28 with the same burn and no luck.

I'm also having trouble Flash and Burn recognizing the Moates Burn 2 on my new lappy.

I followed the tutorials and still no luck.

I wonder if it has to do with Windows 7?

I did put a proven chipped p28 with the same and got the same thing.

Did you make sure you erased the chip before you burned? Sometimes you forget the simple shit I did that just the other week.

That or it sounds like you may have a bad injector on the gsr. Are you making sure to erase checksum?

Erase? yes I do that as a routine.

Injector possibility, when we drove the car around the block then brought it back to the shop the turbine housing was very orange. :?:

But I was thinking that the fuel inj. size might be too small. :?:

Erase chip, blank check, load file to buffer, verify with buffer done.

Erase chip, blank check, load file to buffer, verify with buffer done.

That is what I do every time.

I heard that sometimes you have to burn 2 to 3 times on the chip to get it to take.

Is that all it could be?

Also I notice both maps for the above combo's had the atmospheric pressure sensor disabled.

Some of the example mass did not have it disabled.
I usually do not chose to disable the atmospheric pressure sensor.
I notice when I add boost table some maps show the sensor disabled and some do not.

Could this be the problem? :?:

You mean barometric sensor? Mine is always disabled in Crome.

As for burning chips, I've never had to do it multiple times to get it to work.

Ok looked at the d16z6 w/ chipped p28 again today.

Found a bridge between two pins for the rom socket so we fixed that.

Burned a stock p28 basemap and it worked perfect.

Burned a p28 basemap cut and pasted to a p30 rom and no go.

Burned the stock p28 basemap again and it worked.

Put the cover on the ecu back and it started having problems. While the car was running I picked up the ecu to put some tension in the harness and it started running fine. Then placed the ecu flat on the floor and it went to shit again.

Looked closely at the wiring of the ecu harness and there has been some splicing. So I told the customer that he needs fix the harness and get the CEL light bulb replaced because that was not working.

So now I'm sure that it is not my chipping for the d16z6.

The GSR I'll tackle that after I get back from my business trip Thurs.

And I'm going to check his inj. first because the problem with his started when he had his 390cc inj. taken out and the stock ones put back in.
