AC on with ECU?
« on: April 30, 2010, 09:44:00 AM »

well i chipped a ecu for a guy, i sent it with a stock map , he got a CODE and i resend ecu with another map, no CELs , ECU is good, car is del Sol VTI (B16a2) with P30 long ecu stock, disable ELD/KS since those cars have not them, the car is not idling right, OK, but the problem what i dont understand is he is saying me AC is trying goes on alone (wtf?) i dont understand why is happening that, and when AC is ON (alone!, AC light is OFF even) the engine doesnt idle and he got a CEL, idk what is the right problem, he will send me ecu back again, ill leave it stock again and  ill send a ecu of mine P28 chipped with the same map for test it again. that guy doesnt know nothing about engines/ecus so he can helps me a lot in this.  :-\ idk is his car was fine before i chipped the ecu but he said it did.

No one can help you.  You need to get the ECU install it on your vehicle, and datalog from it.  See what the ECU sees.  If you have any questions about those datalogs, we're happy to help you with that.

well, what i meant is if there is possible that AC get activate "alone" ( alone means with AC controls OFF) , just with ecu chipped with a bad map ... i think he has a electric problem instead problem with ecu i sent him but he said his cars was runing fine with stock ecu and thats what make me ask this.

OBD1 ECUs handle the AC request, they activate the relay for the compressor clutch.  I've never seen a "bad" chip that worked fine aside from that.  I have seen a bad ECU that won't let the AC turn on.

Does he not have a stock ECU to run to check it out? Tell him to unplug his AC connection and see if it idles correctly then.
