Thanks Jon, I asked around and it would appear that you are correct.  The only people that can be a pain in the ass about it are ICBC, and even then it's hit or miss.

r32 here with an r34 front.  Well, not here but 15 miles away.  It's legal.  Yes, it drifts.

That being said you'd come out ahead trying to 2jz swap a 22b imprezza.

Eh, R32 is a $5K car, $1700 for the R34 front.  The Impreza alone costs that much.

here in WA. if your car is registered out of the city no inspection needed i buy Tags for my car 18 months out at a time....no smog test..

(Scantool) emissions is a county by county basis here in NC.  I live in a scantool emissions county.  I know four methods to fool scantool emissions, pretty apparent if the test ever gets audited by someone with their head out of their ass, and none of them are "clearscanning" aka using another vehicle for the test.

That being said, the "pretty apparent" stuff is about damn foolproof with how stupid DMV/DOT/EPA public officials are.
