I have a love/hate relationship with my Innovate LM-2.  It's "serial" logging is nothing of the sort, it comes up in Device Manager under the joystick category instead of the industry standard COM port that EVERYTHING looks for.  As such it still isn't supported like its supposed to be, and while it DOES have legacy serial capabilities Innovate doesn't make any cables to plug it in as such.  I can buy a dorky cable from Innovate that converts the serial stream into a 2.5mm audio jack for interfacing with other Innovate gear that does have a proper serial interface ($150+ units), but when I purchased their flagship product with all the RPM, analog in/outs, OBD2 datastream, and datalogging capabilities I need it's assinine that I should have to purchase anything at any price to support the basic functionality of a serial wideband.

So I cannibalized an AEM mobo serial connector and got busy.

I kind of like it, but it's NOT the correct solution and totally unsuitable for everyday use.  I've lodged a complaint with the vendor I purchased the LM-2 through as I know he has some pull with them.  If I get a free 4-pin plug so I can make my own cable (it'll be built in USB-serial converter) I'll be happy, but in all honesty Innovate owes everyone who's purchased this product is a 4-pin to DB9 serial cable and all future LM-2's need to come bundled with such.

Where's the duct tape???

That would be very shitty of them not to send you the proper cable it should have come with in the first place. Maybe get your guy to mention your thinking PLX lol.

I haven't purchased any of the serial PLX stuff.  I'll probably get an SM-AFR with 52mm gauge at some point as my cost on them is under $200 to the door, and see if the "iMFD" stream passes through an off the shelf USB-serial converter.  Problem is, aftermarket support for non-Innovate serial widebands is not anywhere near as good.  It really makes it frustrating that Innovate crippled their big dog wideband like this.

Are you still using the power cord constructed of a map sensor plug, electrical tape and two different guages of wire we constructed in my garage just before the meet???

LOL.

Fitting.

That POS seems like it doesn't like your furry dome.

On a serious note im supposing that this is the issue you were having while up here and having to resort to the analog side of things huh... Thats really weird.

No, the problem I had in Seattle was I'd forgotten the power cord for the LM-2, which is included with every LM-2 and is an industrial strength cable that works very well.

I did the above hack since all my LC-1's die, and EvoScan doesn't support the LM-2's USB connection.

Lacking how?  I didn't make those three jumper wires to look pretty.  I make 60 jumper wires however I goddamn well pleased, last year, twenty each of: male/male, male/female, and female/female.  They are meant to be used, not to impress people named Jeff on the internets.

Well maybe it's just your craptacular lens creating a shadowy illusion between the tubes and wire (bottom right). If so, it's still your fault for something then. Even rawr takes better pics of his vw.

I would recommend putting some sort of sheething over the 3 wires though. I don't know about your luck, but one would grab on teh shifter, one on the e-brake, and the other on the edge of my lap top the second I set it down.

Get over it, I know what any particular thing I take a picture of looks like, and I'm not terribly interested in spending money to buy a camera that will impress men on the internet.  The LM-2'll get a real cable that plugs and clips in correctly before I have to use it as a true serial wideband again.

Besides, I need the serial cable for my AEM back.

Jefferina has a last name that is either Czech/Ukrainain/Pole, meaning she's slavic.  All slavic women are whores (I cite Vadim Golubev's wife, and Yuriy's mother, as proof of this) and as such they spread their legs even if you do not attempt to impress them.  Why should I bother?

I probably should have posted this earlier, but Innovate customer service kicks ass.  They may or may not have a part listing for an LM-2 serial cable yet, but they can and will make one for you if you ask.

I was at first upset myself by my lm2 driver;  but after looking at the sdk; and understanding how to implement it into apps, I understand it fully.

Ya, the modified molex plug to a serial converter works, but oah well I guess.

Luckily ectune has support for the USB driver.
