in reality to say you are atheist is almost as bad as saying you are religious. there really are no facts that prove one or the other, therefor the only reasonable stance is agnosticism.
agnosticism does not mean you think there may be a god, but that there is no evidence for god-but also no evidence that there is not.

i myself being an agnostic that is asymptotically approaching atheism.
